Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Zekrom Eelektrik

Blissey Prime and/or Max Potion could work really well in this deck too. Discarding energy is the goal so no reason not to.
The main Eelektrik deck I've been seeing played is with Raichu Prime. Expect Eelktrik with Zekrom EX next set since they work so well together.

Hey guys! I've been playing this deck on TCGO alot, Except I run 4 zek, 4 thundurus, 4 tynamo (2 of the 30 hp with free retreat) and 4 eeletrik. (also cleffa and pichu)

I also thought using Max Potions was a good idea until I ran into a few trainer lock decks,. Instead I now run Seeker to heal up my zekroms and/or thundurus. Also I traded the 3 switches I ran to DCE, people love to catcher the eels.

This is a fun deck to play, also very strong. Once you get 2 eels up your opponent should be seeing an endless amount of Bolt Strikes. I can post of some things I've learned playing this type of deck if people are interested. The disclaimer is: Even though I play on Expert on TCGO, its hard to battle competitive decks.

is thundurus your ideal starter? you know to start sucking up electric energy from the deck to set up for eelektrik?

I play 4 Tornadus and 3 Zekrom. No shaymin, and a 4-3 Eel line.

4 Collector, 4 Juniper, 4 Sage's, 4 PONT, and 2 Copycat.

Yes, it gives you options to retreat if you need to eeek for a new hand or even playground. If you get a collector on turn 1 then you should use thundurus to charge up. I wont bench a zekrom until I either have to or i have an eel up.

Has anyone tested thundurus vs tornadus in the same decklist? I would but don't have the resources to get 4 tornadus online right now.

tordadus is def a must for this deck. it can combo well with the eelektriks and its a much needed counter to donphan (and other fighting pokes). in my deck im running 3 thundurus to help speed things along, and 2 tornadus. i should prolly have more tornadus, but 3/2 seems to work for me right now.

Playtested yesterday with a proxy deck. Eelektriks work very well. Zekrom is awesome. Tornadus did not play as big of a role as I think it should. Should I include DCE? I did not include DCE. I don't think it goes well with Zekrom. Teching a copy makes it hard to get, especially since I can't search for it.

I saw some dude run Emolga in a Zekrom/Eelektrik deck. What's up with that?

Beleive me, tornadus helps so keep him. DCE is really important to the deck too, not only to easily power up zekroms outrage, or fuel tornadus's atks, but just in case your eelektriks get cathered, it's useful to help them retreat.

How many DCE should I include?

My pokes are:
4 Zekrom
3-3 Eelektrik (40HP tynamo)
3 Tornadus

I run the same Pokemon line as you except with a 4-4 Eel and run 3 DCE, though I'd like to fit in a 4th one. DCE is too important to not have IMO.

Zekrom/Eelektrik/Serperior

I have been experimenting with my Zekrom/Eelektrik using 2 tornadus and running a build of 2 Serperiors. It is vastly annoying healing for 20 every chance they get crossed with Evolites . It seems to be working well, though I need to flucuate trainer ratios to get it right. Has anyone thought of adding Serperiors in as well?

tl;dr, not sure if the "how to get energies onto the active w/o shaymin" issue has been solved. using the free retreat tynamo is the way to solve that problem. also keeping a cleffa on the bench if you evoled to eelektriks already. send up a free retreater or a tonradus, dynamotor to benched zekrom (if you use the deck properly, you will be able to get 3 eels on the bench most games) triple motor to a zekrom, retreat cleffa/tynamo or attach retreat tornadus and attack stuff.

How does everybody feel about Magnezone?

I think that the decision between a pure Tornadus/Zekrom/Eel and one with a lesser focus on the basics and a Magnezone line depends on the local metagame.

Things like Vanilluxe/Vileplume, Gothitelle, and Truth are obviously much weaker to Magnezone versions, but if those aren't popping up, a high pluspower count Zek/Eel list will run a lot faster and do effectively the same damage that it needs to.

Both are strong decks, and at the end of the day both have won numerous tournaments.
