Hello,
My current game with my son is on hold because there is a disagreement about Paralyzed/Retreat rules and bringing Zoroark into play using his Stand In ability.
At this moment, my active pokemon is Paralyzed. My Zoroark is on my bench and has the requisite energy for her Mind Jack attack. I want to use Zoroark's Stand In ability to push my paralyzed active pokemon to the bench, and then attack with her Mind Jack.
The argument from the other side of the table is that my active pokemon is paralyzed, and cannot retreat.
My argument is that it is not a retreat, but the active pokemon being removed with Zoroark's ability.
Thoughts?
Fyi Zoroark's ability Stand In states; "Once during your turn (before your attack), if this pokemon is on your bench, you may switch this pokemon with your active pokemon."
Thanks.
RL
