Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

ZRE and Yamato??

I still don't see how mew ex is very good in ZRE unless you can somehow start with him in your active slot and chain voltorb's power which can be very hard to do.

they re 2 different decks. mew doesnt play zapdos, or ray from deoxy. and the main attacker is different too

CardRaider: Desert Ruins deeply affects your deck.

It didn't stop Yamato from PWNing everyone.
He used Electrode to attack 80% of the time, and when he dropped Ray or Zap, it's only a matter of 2-3 turns before his opponent concedes.

but what happened if a dewgong or a ninetails with safeguard popped up? its like an auto loss. HL lanturn causes problems sometimes though.

u attack with macargo. it only takes 2 turns to knock them out and then PWNAGE AGAIN!! lolness.
oh yeah, and you can also blow up electrode and pow. Then you can get energy on macargo (so you don't waste 3 turns attaching) and get a prize or get a bunch of damage on them.

CleffaGirl: I get what you're saying, but Magcargo is weak to Dewgong, if it ever came up.

If someone uses dewgong, they won't get too far in a tournament... so I wouldn't even worry about people who use dewgong.

Yes, ppl will lose not because a card is bad, but because it's unpopular  Dewgong isn't as bad as you make it out to be.

Things are unpopular for a reason. it's not like people randomly select a card and denounce it and then refuse to use it. Why is dewgong unpopular? Because it sucks. Subpar attacks, hard to put into decks with its energy, bad weakness, higher retreat... screw dewgong

safeguard pokemon are just bad overall, theyre meant as a stall, ive never had a problem overcoming the attempt to stall with a safeguard pokemon, not even in decks like ZRE.

It's boostable, 10 more HP than Altaria & Ninetales, and is water type, which is pretty useful; to have in a Safeguarder. The only thing I see truely bad about it is the weakness to Deltas... but meh, it's not like you have to use it, or even think it's good. Just keep in mind that putting ppl down that want to use it is pretty rude.

(and for the record, I never liked Dewgong in general, so I'd never use it anyway)

Who runs boost? I personally don't like boost, and I can't think of any archetypes that use the card...
Fire>water, as far as types
and water weakness>steel weakness, as far as weaknesses go

!

1)safeguard pokemon suck,ALL of them.
2)go and yamato are both excellent players with yamato still being the best IMO.
3)anyone who loses to dewgong should be dropkicked because you can pwon it with magcargo (IF you know what you are doing) and anyone who loses to ninetales should be slapped because its better than dewgong but still sucks therefore deserving a not so harsh slap but a slap none the less.

I can verify all of this to be true. (tried safeguard pokemon, watched yamato/go play, and pwon ninetales/dewgong.

Salamence EX to an extent. And yes, Water weakness is better than Steel weakness, I'll give you that.

Wobbuffet & Dustox EX...?

(and they PWN everything else too, what's so special about them PWNing Safeguarders?)

CR: He only ran 1 fossil IIRC

Oops, guess that opens up another slot for draw cards. :thumb:

And I agree with you, Safeguard poke shouldn't become too much of a problem. Even when Yamato run into some of them, though, (cough*Wobb*cough) he found a way to get around them.

Let's see if I understand this...
The deck Yamato used in the marathon, though it may have been Go's deck, looked like this...
1) had no magmar
2)had magcargo
3) had reversals
4)had 1/2 fossils
5)had 1 zap/1 moltres???
6)had no gyms

If I could get clarifications, that would be great...

1) yes
2) yes, 2-2
3) yes, around three
4) yes, claw
5) 2 Zap, no Moltres
6) I'm 80% sure
