Well, I just checked Zeo, and found that the card had a (C) retreat cost, and, like the other newer Darkness types, a Fighting Weakness.
So, while it's nice to have a new card, this thing is not deck-worthy (Rogue-bait).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Rocket's Scizor would have to evolve from Rocket's Scyther. Shouldn't be a problem in Unlimited, though, if it does turn out to be Rocket's Scizor.

If I remember correctly, ALL VS Pokemon are basic, even if they should be evolutions. Like the Shining Pokemon.

yep, the next promo is rockets sneasel.
60hp, 2 attacks. 1 retreat. weak to fighting, resistant to psychic. It is 'best' promo #5.

think outside the box, people. "Rocket Man"= Giovanni. they're not going to reprint giovanni pokemon, but think, what does Giovanni have for a pet in the tv show? persian, that's right. Looks like it is Rocket's Sneasel.
I was over at the Zeo forums and somebody there found an auction for it on eBay. So I went to eBay and looked for the Auction and found it. The auction has been closed by the seller though (you can still view the auction).

The auction says it is Promo #5, which is strange since Buzz was #1.

Ummmm it it just me or does this look like Purity's work? Now I may be wrong as I do not keep up with the Japanese promos or VS cards but this sure looks like something from Zeo.
Plus - how would it have been "won today" - and why would it be #5 and not #2? Just sounds fishy to me...

In all seriousness, I think that the designation "Best" will be just that - Pokemon that have earned their stripes and were icons of the game. ElectaBuzz is a great example (I'm soooo happy to have him back!) I dunno about promo #2 but I would have to bet that Scyther will make the grade, maybe even Clefable now that most troublesome card text has been changed to make Metronome a bit less broken. I guess Blastoise isn't out of the question - there's plenty of precedent with Meganium and Venusaur with breaking the 1 energy/turn rule and without Oak, dancing is a bit tougher than in the old days.
Other guesses: since they will probably rotate out Genesis next Sept I would imagine they will issue Prof Elm and Cleffa as promos because they are good for the game.
Too bad the Gyms are not likely to be reprinted I would love to see R Zapdos, R Chan, and R Scyther come back into the game - not to mention my fave - Blaine's Arcanine. But * sigh * they are gone for good...

I thought WotC stated they would not print any VS cards since it was a seperate game? Clearly the work of someone with the Japanese scan of the card and fake card skills from Zeo or PokeAHHH.
Additionally, this card has the Length and Width printed on it... ![[Dubious]](../tcg/graemlins/dubious.gif) wasn't that only on holofoil cards from now on?
As well, I believe that most VS cards had the rocket symbol and a bar code on the bottom of the card...

Yeah, it's very weird. It has to be fake, IMO. But you're incorrect about one thing: the VS cards didn't have barcodes. Not a single one of them.

I really don't think that Scyther would be at all broken now..
Blastoise.. Well, it would definitely make a very good deck, but I don't think that it would be TOO broken.
My guess is Blastoise, and that Scyther WILL appear sometime later on..

The art is actual, it's a Japanese Promo. Whether this card is really from Wotc or not, is up for debate.

Everyone is forgetting another Rocket card-Rocket's Tyranitar. An extra rare from VS like Dark Raichu from Team Rocket.
Rocket's Tyranitar 80HP
1 Dark(Destruction Beam-flip a coin,if heads take 1 Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon and discard it. No damage)
3 Colorless(Slam-flip 2 coins,does 30x the number of heads. 30x)
This is a general idea,but I haven't looked at the translations of VS for a couple of months. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the MT's said that there would be "Best" promos - cards that are being resurrected from old sets; and re-released promos. This would pretty much exclude any oddball Japanese cards that never saw an English release. Case in point - the Holiday Kit - has an Electabuzz as "best" and the Misdreavus from League year 2.
Perhaps the line DMTM quoted can be interpreted in some other context than "Rocket Man".

Just a thought on this. "...long, long time..." referencing a time elapsed thing. "Rocket Man" where could reference Rocket's Hitmonchan, does it necessarily have to be Rocket Man and not just a portion of the word. Rock. So taking the two mentioned clues of long, long time and rock and considering it is a "Best" card--why not go to what would be opposite of the current Formats. Could it be Aerodactyl? ![[Confused]](../tcg/confused.gif)
Fact: it is one of the "Best" cards from the past.
Fact: it would thoroughly disrupt the current environment causing new deck ideas- which would promote growth in the game.
Fact: Evoles from a rock or fossil and is fighting.
Fact: was around a "..long, long time..." ago.
Just a thought. Especially with the rerelease of Base Buzz. Going back to BBP. Could be a wrench in the metagame.
But again, just a thought outside of the "Rock" ![[Eek!]](../tcg/eek.gif)
