The set that was known as "Champions" has had a name change. [Big Grin]

The official name is now. "Legendary Collection"

This name will not change as it is final.

Just thought I would bring you all up to date.

There will be two theme decks released sometime after the set releases. They will be called "Magma" and "Storm"

"Legendary Collection"
I like it.
Is this a hint that we will get some/all of the "legendaries" (Mewtwo, Mew, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno)?
Theme Decks! Yea!
Magma prob. = fire/fighting?
Storm prob. = water/lightning?
Maybe a smell a Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno in the theme decks? Just a guess.

Since the name is final, does this mean the set is final too? I am looking forward to it! [Big Grin] [Bounce]

Legendary Collection...didn't the villain in PK2K say something like that? I believe he said, "even my collection will be legendary." I liked Champions better, though. Just my opinion.

to be honest, I would rather have a good set name, but it's just a matter of what is in it anyway. Thanks for the update!

Kind of wordy, no?

"Hi, can I get a booster of Legendary Collection?"

I like Champions better. Maybe we can just refer to it as Legends or something >;\

DMTM what ever happened to the Card E expansion set that was suppose to be released in late May? I know Wizards had a press release back in Febuary about it and it can be found at

http://www.wizards.com/News/pressrelease.asp?20020201b

So what happened to it??

Delayed due to problems with timing/licensing etc..., and replaced with the nifty new "Legendary Collection"...

I believe DMTM has said we will (likely) get this set later.

Hmmm, DMTM is feeding us as little information as possible that will still keep us building up expectations about the new set.

If it is a "reprints only" set then I (and probably quite a few others) will feel cheated and won't give much attention to DMTM:s "leaks" in the future...

So DMTM, for your own credibility I hope that we se a few "fresh" cards (from the Japanese "Vending" series or other sources) in the new set, the chance of getting a holo Machop just isn't enough. [NoNoNo]

If it is a "reprints only" set, then come clean now! [edit]That better have not meant what I thought it meant or ...-`Sensei[/edit]

I don't know any more about this set than any of you do, but remember that everything we get here is technically a "reprint"... [Dubious] ...since the cards all appeared in Japan first...

SD_PokeMom, I know that we can't expect any completely new (Wizards only) cards in the "Legendary Collection", but a set that only contains cards that have been released in the US Base, Base2, Jungle, Fossil & Team Rocket sets or as US promos would be a disapointment.

Why is everyone so confidant that this set is all a reprint of things already released in the US? If you'll have a look back to when the set was announced MTM stated that the set was "The best of Red and Blue." All that means is the it won't contain any of the pokemon from 152 and on. Why not stop makeing foolish guesses and open you minds and possibly expect the unexpected. The set seems to have promise to it so why not let it happen.

I'd have to agree with you there. "Legendary Collection" sounds like something that would be cool in other areas of the world, but is kinda cliche here.

(For instance, "Link to the Past" for SNES is called "Triforce of the Gods" in Japan. Sounds cool there, but here, it's like a B-movie.)

Lets not forget the old crosstrainer/crosstrader set that was postponed, they were saving it for a more suitable occasion, and it seems that getting delayed on e might mean "hey Gengar run to the closet and undust (does that word really exist?) that set of ours we tried to make some time ago, we might be able to pull this one off!" which would be a lot of vending, if I am not wrong, they already had playtested it at some point, and had many of the cards translated already, which would be just too "coincident" and I would love a vendingfull set, just that articuno makes me smile, and that mr. mime, just hope this assumption is for real !

I liked Champions better, but Legendary Collection is cool too and I think it better describes the set. Magma and Storm ought to be good (depending on what's in the set). I have a feeling that this will be half re-release cards and half new cards (stuff we've never seen officially released in English) because if Base Set 2 was any indication, I don't think they'll ever make a complete re-release set until Card-E 2 is done, and even then Base Set 3 (or 4 if this is considered by players as a Base Set) would have not just R/B/Y Pokemon, but also G/S/C.
