This is an awesome set of prizes!!!
Does a card-e booster draft or card-e Rochester draft refer to a draft using expedition cards?
Also, does 3 card-3 booster packs refer to Skyridge packs? (part of Fan Appreciation sealed deck)

Question: what's the difference for a case of product and a display of product?!? I know a display is a box of boosters... but what's a case?!? It's much more than a box... but how much more?

I am guessing that the card-e draft refers to any or all of the Card-e series (Expedition, Aquapolis, Skyridge). Probably hasn't decided on the actual mix of boosters just yet.
And I'm sure that "Card-3" was simply a typo meaning "Card-E". They're hust too darn close on the jeyboard. /
BTW, when he said cases, how many boxes (36 packs) come in a case?
I just hope that the prizes are gonna be this good for ComicCon too. "San Dee-Ay-Go, here I come...".

Well I was going to flip my lid over the quantity of the prizes and the absence of anything like that in the UK.
But instead I would like to know just what was sent for the UK's Fan Appreciation Event.
Because we have seen nothing so far like that...
Indeed at GenCon Europe NoPoke the UK's first Master Professor even used his own stock of Expedition to boost the prizes.. and yet he has no chance of ever seeing an Elm, (it seems) for his troubles. But were he in the US he could get 2 for joining a tourney and then dropping.
Kind of devalues them too don't you think?
WotC you can only kick us in the face so often ..if you really wanted to leave a good taste behind you should have shared the wealth a little better. Instead it appears that you have managed to distill all the rage of the last 4 years of incomplete or no support outside the US into one final insult

Did anyone notice that the Team Multiplay Championship at GenCon cuts to a top 8 for a Rochester Draft? I don't think it is a typo. I think this is meant to be the ultimate multiple format team championship--literally ultimate because there may not ever again be sanctioned team play.
How is a Rochester Team Draft conducted?
Do teammates sit at different tables and draft from different pools?
Do teammates construct their decks independently?
If it was up to me, I'd have teammates sit at the same table and be able to watch what their partner was drafting--but each draft their own deck. No talking during the draft. No sharing of cards.
Has this format been used before?
No matter how it's done, I think it's cool. The problem is getting to the top 8.

I hope that those in charge of the prize piles on these scales are aware of the fact that we've been having VIPs from The Pokémon Company visit both GenCon-Europe and the forthcoming 'Fan Appreciation' event in London, this June (check Team UK for details). Credit to the UK Profs and Master Profs who've helped support the wallets of WotC 'for the good of the game' if they fail to see prizes of these proportions for the fans outside the USA. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have taken note.
I really am putting my faith in MTM's promises of similar goodies and an opportunity for fan appreciation for those who aren't able to spend over $1,000 to make it all the way to the US from Europe - we'll be keen on comparing notes with our US players on the prizes on offer. I'll be interested in how the UK's event will compare with WotC-Europe's main event in Belgium too, in terms of support for Fan Appreciation.
I'd be sickened by the disparity if Europe could not have a chance to celebrate with WotC, as Pokémon was and still is a global success.
If that - and unfortunately I predict it to be with WotC-UK's track records - becomes a reality, well so long and no thanks for all the fish.

Its a piece of high quality paper with a sticker on it. It's insane for it to have any value higher than the cost to produce it in the first place. WotC has always made it so that collectors can recieve all the promotional cards in some form or another (excluding prereleases/W stamped). Additionally there is no official value of a card, but the worth of the card is determined by individuals who sell/purchase the card.
Really, they are giving away something that they did not have to give away and yet we are STILL complaining. =/ -Phil

To us Europeans the pizes listed are sickening, but then again - our markets don't consume enough cards and we diehards who play the game are so finely spread all over this continent that WotC can't be expected to pour out that ammount of goodies over here. We'll just have to grin and bear it.
For us it'll all be as easy to catch as that Suadi bearded guy in Afghanistan, that guy with the moustache in Irak and those weapons of mass destruction...

The Europeans are on the bottom of the totem pole. I'm sorry guys
Maybe Wizards could hold an event over there and use some of the American prizes.

Sorry, have to stand by and support ukpokémonpro here. You simply cannot appreciate how much we've busted our guts supporting this game. We've spent months and months, pushing Pokémon OP along both in the UK and across the continent. Without people like ukpokémonpro, Skywolf and NoPoke, Pokémon would have been the 'Harry Potter' of 2002 if not before that. ukpokémonpro has a point and should be listened to.
WotC-UK continued to ignore our clarion calls for change even though we were the ones organising all the tournaments. Eliminating 15+ in the UK when the rest of Europe and the USA had STSQs for all ages... poor planning for qualifiers, nil support of league activity, the push towards Magic:The Gathering. Then when things got out of control and the cutbacks occurred, an overworked OP manager who was being asked to bite more than he could chew.
On the continent, we saw economical ignorance of the forces driving the gaming market, they watched OP in countries dwindled to nought without lifting a finger. Sweden's STSQ with a record 606 participants in 2001, and what happens the next year? The qualifier's cancelled. France and 303 participants in Paris with active leagues across the country? A lack of local awareness and the meek business choice of not translating the cards into local languages after Neo:Genesis saw a crash of interest in the 14 countries that successfully hosted STSQs the previous year. Number of countries hosting the qualifiers the following year? Less than half. Let's ignore Spain, and Portugal, and Sweden, and Poland, and Russia, and France, and Switzerland, and Denmark, and... the list went on as players were excluded across the entire continent.
WotC-Italy organised itself and reaped the benefits through the dedication of OP staff who knew and cared about its players. Customer awareness paid off with dividends. Everyone was happy as they went alone and supported Pokémon.
We fought against the tide and organised four highly successful Qualifiers to 'Worlds' ourselves. The Professors were the judges and TOs. We made losses financially so that 'Worlds' could be truly representative. We gritted our teeth when we saw the lack of support and promotion.
We just went through and supported GenCon-Europe too. We saw for ourselves the lowest turnouts due to extortion and greed by the powers-that-be. No more subsidies from WotC. We were on our own but we still made it succeed. We dug deep into our pockets again to line the coffers of corporations.
If only we had a RH Elm for all the promises broken, I'd be on my way to GenCon-US by now. So many players still across the continent, waiting and wondering. I hope we're not forgotten.

Okay Phil it's a piece of paper that once again seems to be exclusively available to the US only.
Now this may sit fine and dandy with you but it sure as heck doesn't with me.
So turn up and play and get 2 whilst Master Professors and Professors the world over can only dream of getting them..
But that's okay because we're only the UK, only Europe and what do we matter?
MTM led me to believe he and the other MTs were sympathetic to our plight in the UK but it appears that is not the case. How hard is it to mail each Master Professor and Participating Professor 2 cards .. it's easy look at the DCI records see who has acted as judges and reward that. Heck I got a 10 year MtG Judges Folder at GenCon Europe... for Judging Pokemon ..
Hundreds of tourneys TO'd and Judged, Premier Events organised and run .. and yet a

is something I only have access to through the kindness of others .. I was given mine by Lord Ninetails and that means a lot to me ...
It seems all the work by Master Professors and Professors in the UK have done and will continue to do counts for nothing to WotC ... THANK GOD FOR NINTENDO then...
It's hard to understand what is important to others when you have so much.. it's easy to put scant value on something that is easy for you to get and yet an impossible dream to others.
A reward for hard work and loyalty has become a throw away prize in the US ... some reward for those outside the pig pen looking in.
