I just visited www.pokemon-tcg.com today and they started their card sneek peaks which goes for the next ten days. The card today is treeko:

Card isn't very good battle card. HP is fairly standard along with it being weak to Fire, resistant to Water, and having a 1 Energy Retreat Cost. However Treeko's attack pretty well stinks. You have to flip a coin in order to Poison and the attack does no actual damage, and it cost one grass energy.

I guess the only reason you would use it is for evolving into Grovyle but even then Scrye Magazine said that there will be another version of Treeko in the set.

I am a bit disappointed that Nintendo is starting off the show with only commons. I was hoping they would show off better cards such as Rares and Holos (like DMTM's Aquapolis Sneak Peak). Also no changes to the rest of the website have been made.

When WOTC was producing the cards, didn't they just translate the attacks from the origional TPC cards anyway? So the attacks aren't going to be any different at all, really?

Well WotC had a few exceptions but they really did do the best to fulfill the same cards as is in Japan, but they also kept in mind about the Global game slightly. So overall its a yes/no question. In this case, if Wizards still had the license, Treeko would still look the same.

If there were no "bad" cards, how would you know a "good" card when you saw one? [teach]

A few months ago DMTM did an article on why all cards in a set cannot be superstars. Check it out HERE.

Not every card in a set has to be good, but couldn't they show us 10 of the better ones in this set?

And, as with the Pokemon site itself, Nintedo is up to it's old tricks with their strategic updating. Come on Nintend, even I update more often than that!

Maybe it has something to do with its evolution cards or the game boy game.

There was a Mudkip in the starter. Since i can't read Japanese and don't have nick15's spoiler with me, those must be it's attacks (i looked at it today and it does have 2 attacks). Mud Slap must be the one that has the 3 coins flip.

The other mudkip doesn't have mudslap, you can see a picture of it here, at pokemonlabs.com .
