I'm not very experienced but generally when I win its because my fast pokémon have been FAST. Anything but fastest isn't good enough imo.
It's male so I can't breed for the right nature yet and I made like 50 of them with only 4 total having speed related natures. =\

Does anyone know if you can hatch shiny in emerald, fire red and those games? A friend of mine said you can't, but I'd love to hatch a shiny Pichu.

Was on the end of my third day of SRs for it, averaging about 100 SRs a day.
EDIT: CRAP. NO. Corrupted save file. D:
EDIT 2: ... Huh. The save file itself seems to be okay, but the (currently running file on the ) Wii can't save... The Gamecube can save and load, though. :/

Larvitar is O.K but you can breed them to have dragon dance and outrage.

I recommend you use it for breeding, rather than training. Depends on how much time you can spend. Use successively better females and pair it with that male. Or, vice versa, if it's a female. Hopefully, it has at least a good nature if it's female.

Well I tried, but when I bred his daughter directly to another decent male, the stats blew, only attack was 31 and speed was like 7 although it was a jolly nature and his daughter was nearly as good as him.

Don't worry. You have to brute force probability with loads of eggs in order to get some good one. It's what I'm doing, for one of my projects...

Mmm...well he is shiny lol the only reason I wanted to breed was for reversal, but the results thus far are dismal. I might train him up anyway, then try to breed a better one. How long does it generally take to breed a desirable pokemon?
