Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

IV Bragging/Inquiry Thread

Just a question, I tried to figure out my espeon's IV's; I suspect they're fairly good as she had the highest stats possible except defense at level 5 http://pokemon.marriland.com/statcalc.php she was in wild for def, but the rest were high in the trained section. (Can't remember exact stats as I've trained her alot since then) How do I use this? http://www.metalkid.info/Pokemon/OnlineProgram/Calculators/IV.aspx My espeon is in the level 70's. Can I still check her IV's, or should I have done it at level 5? I tried my best to use the calculator but am confused...

Long story: save first. Then, use 11 of each of the Effort value-subtracting berries (Pomeg through Tamato) or a number until it says the value won't go any lower. If you haven't enough berries, get planting! Always good to have at least 11 on you... Shove those values into MetalKid's IV calculator. Then turn off without saving, assuming you had Effort values you wanted on it. If you want to reset the EVs and retrain it, save instead.

Short story: if it has any EVs, no, you can't calculate IVs accurately.

Okay...how many of said berries do I need for a maxed out stat? Also unsure of what EV's are maxed as I traded for espy.

One berry will bring a stat down to 100 EVs if above 100. Each subsequent berry, or if the EVs are already at 100 or fewer, will lower it by 10 EVs.

- If it says happiness increased, but *stat* decreased, then there are more than 0 EVs in the stat at the time the berry was used to lower them, but might or might not be 0 now if you don't know the EVs, and happiness is not maxed.
- If it says happiness increased, but *stat* won't go any lower, then there are 0 EVs in the stat, but happiness is not maxed.
- If it says it adores you, this is simply stating its happiness is maxed.
- If it says it will have no effect, there are 0 EVs in the stat, and its happiness is maxed.

On a complete tangent, my raising 5 "Pickup" Pachirisu to level 91 has paid off: the free Revives, Rare Candies, Dusk Stones, Shiny Stones, Dawn Stones, Full Restores, Max Revives, PP Ups, Max Elixirs. Leftovers, and Earthquake TMs while leveling up my Ludicolo are really quite useful, and are now in abundance in my inventory.

Delicious, Blazi-King. How long did that one take you?

Well I breed off and on, and have figured out how to get WO Pokemon so, after I got the 2 WO parents, only 20 eggs...Id have to say a total of 200+ hrs (start to finish).

2nd Egg was the one I posted and the 19th egg was a Shiny QI one with X/31/X/X/X/31

EDIT:
WO = Wonderfully Outstanding
QI = Quite Impressive

EDIT #2:
Here are some more of my creations using my method of obtaining WO Pokes:

(11 days)
Sneasel
(Jolly)
31/31/29/29/4/31

(27 Hours)
Magikarp
(Adamant)
31/30/30/24/12/31

(6 Hours)
Magikarp
(Adamant)
31/31/27/24/12/31

(11 Days)
Skitty
(Bold)
31/29/30/29/31/4

Those relate to the terms of a person who check your Pokemon in the Emerald version, I believe.

Chansey
Bold Nature
Ability: Natural Cure
HP: 31
Attack: 17
Defense: 30 (urg soooo close)
SP. Atk: 14
SP. Def: 31
Speed: 4

This took over a month to get, hatched over 400 eggs. The moveset I plan for is:
Seismic Toss
Aromatherapy (which it knows)
Softboiled
Thunder wave
Does anyone think I should try to get 31 in HP, Def and S. Def, or keep this one?

Correct, it refers to the OLD MAN in the building just above the Poke Center,w ho tells you what IVs you have, and how good that pokemon is overall IV wise (IE Wonderfully Outstanding).

Wonderfully Outstanding = 155+ Total IVs (which is the total I strive for).

Now going for something that will either be great or tragic, depending on how it evolves after trading it over: a new Tri Attack Togepi from XD.

EDIT 1: Not sure whether to settle for this half-decent one or not... Probably will reset again for a better one.
Mild #175 Togepi: 26-29 / 4-7 / 2-5 / 20-23 / 6-9 / 20-23

EDIT 2: Went for the reset.

EDIT 3: Saved for this Togepi. Could have done better, but was content with this one:
Modest #175 Togepi: 18-21 / 16-19 / 18-21 / 24-27 / 10-14 / 16-19
Now to hope it is Serene Grace when it becomes a Togekiss eventually. *~*

EDIT 4: After just a little bit of resetting, got a nice Shuckle from Duking in a trade.
Careful #213 Shuckle: 25-26 / 23-24 / 27-29 / 30-31 / 2-3 / 14
A pity on the Sp.Def, though... And that the Atk. and Sp.Atk are mostly useless IVs.

EDIT 5: Just beat everything in the game up to the point just before Tangela. Got an Explosion / Protect combo for clearing out the previous Pokemon to get to it as quick as can be, and scents to purify up to its nature. No other Poke Spots, no Pokemon to be purified and interrupt... Time to save, and set in for the grind...

EDIT 6: Keep / reset?
I've got three options here: (took out the memory card from my Wii, and have XD borrowed from a friend, loaded it up on the Gamecube as well): Keep first, keep second, or reset? (Will know Morning Sun, Solarbeam, Sunny Day, and Ingrain from complete Pokemon XD purification. Eventually replacing Ingrain with either Hidden Power or some other move for my own team, perhaps Power Whip for Solarbeam, not really sure yet.)

Tangela 1:
Impish #114 Tangela: 0-3 / 7-9 / 14-16 / 4-6 / 27-29 / 27-29
Not too happy about that HP stat, though... Defense is decent, Sp.Def. rocks, as does speed. I'd use Rare Candies to narrow it down, but I want to be able to offer it in an untouched state for trades and stuff.

Tangela 2:
Bold #114 Tangela: 30-31 / 7-13 / 24-26 / 14-16 / 27-29 / 17-19
Pretty darn sure this one is the better, but I want to be positive...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

EDIT 7: Going for the second.

Two nights ago I was hatching Ralts (with an Everstoned Modest Gardevoir) and my 12th hatched Ralts got the modest nature and was SHINY! ^^ Checked its IVs via L100 wifi battle and it's 30/2/2/25/16/18.. not amazing but not bad either

Sweetness, and congrats! I always considered shiny eggs to be more of a surprise or treat; they're less frustrating and more of a treat as long as you're at the point of breeding moves onto it after nature. If you get it before the moves... slightly less fun.
