YES! I would have been SO MAD if they really made such an unparalleled card a Secret Rare. Thanks for the confirmation. The small size of the image made me suspicious.

Today, I WAS going to trick everyone by posting a fake Phione scan that I made (so you would all think it was the surprise until I revealed the real one), but my plan obviously will not be carried out now. I planted a thumbnail of it in the Great Encounters scan directory last night, but no one saw it, so I IM'd its link to a few people, posted a link to it on our own forums (pretending to be a user who found it - I am sure this is where most people saw the link), and finally some people saw it and went around posting the link (ironically claiming they discovered it on their own, or "obtained it" exclusively - silly billies). You can see its thumbnail to the right, obviously (I didn't upload the large version because it would have obviously revealed it as a fake). I think I did a pretty good job on it, even though the template has some glaring errors.

makes me wonder if this would have been admitted to at all, had mike liesik NOT posted it was a hoax upthread? =/

i've just lot a lot of what respect i had left for 'beach and it's webmaster, with this stunt =/

Why can't you just take a joke? I thought it was kind of funny. He didn't even post it on his website, ppl just went crazy over a random unofficial scan.

Doreen, I think you are overreacting. It was meant as a joke that I was going to post as a "prelude" to the real surprise. I am allowed to play tricks on people too, you know. Since I don't have a laptop, I just saw the Mike L. post now - his spoiling of it made no difference to me, and did not affect anything I was going to do. My laptop dying obviously cannot let me carry out my plan of editing the other scans and tricking people by posting its thumbnail, then the real scans.

You know, only a little kid would pull something like that. If you wanted beach to get more respect, you wouldn't pull that crap. WPM, you try to put up beach as a reputable site where we can get information about the next set. You're supposed to maintain that sense of trust with your readers. That wasn't funny one bit.
