Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

NORTHWEST Regional Championship - Salem OR

OK Northwest players, the challenge is clear. With the attendance at Oregon States hitting 199, I don't think it will be sufficient to just break 200 at Regionals. I think the number to beat is 250, so rally all the Trainers you know. You have less than 6 weeks to wait. It will be the biggest event in the NW with the exception of Worlds 2002. :thumb:

I'd love to see us break another attendence record, but are you positive we have room fo 250+ people in that building? It'll be fun, but crowded.

We are using a different building for Regionals with about 40% more floor space. Besides, we could always put 10 to a table.

Honestly BDS I think you better plan for 300-350 (!!!) :thumb: I would love to own the pizza concession at this baby. Actually I would like to collect a $1 tax for every Magmortar or G-G deck...I could make a car payment

There are apparently two marvins now.

One Marvin wants to use Grumpig-Meganium.
The other Marvin wants to use GG like Chris advised.
Both Marvins know that regardless of deck choice, an unplayable Sentret/Pachi start will spring up.

: (

Marvin is also mad that TWO people, Tyler Ninomara AND Tyler Ninomura, won Oregon States Masters. Our Judges are terrible. Honestly, overlooking such blatant collusion? Way to drop the ball. -_-

*Head hits desk* It was hard enough getting that 200 to come over, ugh.

Cory, Can I please be your manager with stock options on this!!??!!

Something I noticied at states, what's with the 1st round game loss thing? I really don't understand it. For Pre-releases to States, i think that allowing players to come late and drop is perfectly fine, there's no real valubles for winning or losing, so let those tournaments do what they please. But there is a free trip to Nations and Scholarship money at stakes. I learned that if a player is to battle another player, whom has been given a game loss or dropped out, their opponent's win percentage is instantly shot and they are put as the lowest player in their score rank (eg. 4-2, 3-3 ect). Unless ofcourse multiple people play that player. Now, that being said, late players and those who drop can totally change the top 8 dramaticly. So someone who could've gone to the top 8, and then won and got scholarship money, now cheers from the sidelines because someone else decided to sleep in.
I relize the spirit of the game and these tournaments being fun ranks above all else, but I think there hs to be a point where we can't allow players to upset the top 8 (or 16 for this event). by simply slacking off. Nobody minds lossing a BR or pre to junky computer calculations, and cities and states are really the things that mold players into becoming pros, but I think Regionals and above should be reserved for those whom are willing to get up at 5, or drive for 8 hours, or even fly to get there.
And no, I'm not complaining about what happened at states. It's over and done, (and it was mega fun so who really cares XD) but I'd hate to see the broken system cause such a shift again. Just my thoughts. Come prepaired or don't come (sounds too harsh in that wording though ;/)

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to going to this. Hopefully it will be the most fun tournament yet, with lots of NW players! :) Good Luck to everyone who's not going to beat me XD

I hear Tyler Ninomara is going to Utah to get donked by an ariados again! ;P ugh, if by some miracle it comes down to me and ross in the finals . . . sudden death again? LOL, i can't wait to see what'll happen!

Tyler, you already tried that joke once. I say that Matthew and Michael Chen are going to Sierra Nevada and winning there. This is along with Levi Kanfield, Stuart Venson, Ross Cowthon, Jeremy Schiff-Kim, Kris Clanton, Paul Johnson, Trevor Deutchland, Thor Hophfmon, Henry Lemming, Ted Branford, Zane Nelzon, Chris Fall, Sean Gettysburg, Matt Macpick, Randy Lincolnson, Lyndsey Murfy, Mindy Lamkey, Gregory Drivewood, Jeff Andersen, Daniel Mousetray, and any other player I can think of.
