Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

St. Louis, Missouri Regionals

Note to Missouri Masters...

Can we PLEASE win the Missouri State Title one of these years...

PLEASE....

I am tired of taking smack from Tennessee, and now Kentucky over this ...

That being said...

The Masters is going to be a FASCINATING division to watch.

I know of at least 24 players coming that I think could easily sneak into the T16, and then ANYTHING goes.

The SENIORS is where the bodies are going to hit the floor.

I sure hope we get a top 16, because there are no less than 10 of the top 75 that have already hinted that they may be here.

A top 8 with this field would be a crying shame.

As for the Juniors....lets BRING IT little guys (and gals!!!)

Can anyone stop the Juggernaut???

Yeah, Back to Back Posts...

These areas will stay open until round 1. Art contest area will stay open during rounds for friends and family to have fun with.

At lunch the following items will open...

Lunch - Cake Walk (Melissa, you are going to be taking lunch in round or late, your choice!!)
Lunch - Pokeball Dodgeball

After Round 3 we will have the following...

Trivia Contest Playoffs (Winners announced after round 4)
Art Contest Prizes Awarded

After the final Swiss Round for the largest Division...

Rochester Draft will begin. Signups begin after round 5, or final round of swiss for any division.
Unlimited Event - Signups begin after round 5, or final round of swiss for any division
Pokemon League

Play for both events begins 30 minutes after the final round of swiss - final division to finish.

If there are a "clean" number of younger drafters, we may start a younger group early. (If 18 of the 36 slots will with Juniors and Seniors ready to go, during the final Masters Swiss round, then we will let 3 pods of them get started while the masters are finishing swiss, and then start the masters pods later. noone wants to stand around)

Oh, Jeez, one more thing....

It looks like I am going to have 3 of the GREATEST CLASSIC judges the game has EVER seen there!!!

For those of you who do not know them...you should...

Chad Young - Psyduck should be poking his head in at some point!!!

Scott Holder - Bigpoppabeatdown may be stepping up to the staff!!!

Matt Tyler - Mega Murkrow or Dr. T to those of us who love him may be there as well!!!

These guys have ALL judged Nats and Worlds, and are just wanting to see the biggest Pokemon Party in the history of the Midwest go off!

Just goes to show...you may grow up, but you NEVER grow OUT of Pokemon!!!

Back to Back to Back Posts? Who is Modding this thread anyway????

I think you're setting your sights very low, M45. 46 is what's necessary for a top 16. IL States got 37 and 39 in the lower age groups, respectively. MO got 29 and 28, respectively. 46 shouldn't be a problem, IMO.

I'd be a little bit more concerned about the Masters group. It is very possible that we'll see 91+ Masters at this event. Remember, Rockford got 78 last year, and the game has grown since then. I'm sure you'll be THRILLED to see that number, but many players won't be.

I am still finalizing my acquisition of the starter decks for that event.

I want to keep it reasonable, but it is a format I am DYING to try.

I want to keep the cost per team at about $10 with prizes for the event too!

Not bad for 2 starter decks!

Ask anyone who has been to my Regionals...I put all of my side events on.

I have a GREAT, GREAT side event coordinator this year in Melissa 10e who was fab in St. Louis in 2006 and the Cakewalk QUEEN in Rockford in 2007.

What more do you want...

The best door prizes (Lvl X for the 1st 100 registrants)
The best new player bonus (pack for the new player and the "sponsor")
The best new player package (free deck, sleeves, deckbox, and Tin to keep it all in)
The best side events (already named them...who else does a Rochester Draft??)
The BEST judges (Worlds and Nats judges all over the field, a Nats HJ for 2007 in the house!)
The largest and best staff (I will name them all later)
The best new player training ground (Stephanie F and Cary L and Chris P for the WIN!!!)
The best location (can you take 5 steps from your event to a Dairy Queen?? In the Mall?)
The most Baked Goods you can win anywhere (ummm tasty Pokeball Cupcakes!)
The best use of 50 Pokeballs (Pokeball Dodgeball!!)

All this, and I know you all would come anyway to be with the ultra cool players from Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona and other points, because we have some of the BEST Pokemon families in the World that are going to be here!!

I cannot wait for this event to happen!

I have to wait though...but only a few more days!!!

Vince

Wow Vince, that sure is a lot of "Bests". Are there any left for me in The woodlands?

Dairy Queen? There goes your tournament, lol.

Good luck to all, have fun.

Lol silly 11-14ers spamming up this thread.

On a different note, I always like to make my own rankings up per state, and I'm wondering who takes slot #4 in Missouri...
It's obvious Trinity (Jake, Bela, Colin) are in the top 3 but I don't feel like starting an argument and ordering us, just wondering who #4 is...

So yeah, I've been doing alot of thinking over the the rankings for TN (well the Memphis half anyway; I've only played Lawman and his league twice, so I'm not really sure about their hax skills ((Matt K. is really good though)))

So yeah, it's obvious that the top two are David and Carlos. After that though, it's kind of a toss up between Mukman, me, and Adam (Adam hasn't been playing much at all as of late, so he's kind of unpolished shall we say, he used to easily be the #1 seed IMO). So yeah... I'm just wondering who #5 is.
A playoff?

omg i have like 1 week to teach my nephew how to play a magmortar deck and his 1st time ever argh stress lol

Kason, you've shown a lot of promise, but I'm not sure how much to weigh your state win in this, you've essentially dodged Trinity throughout your entire career except a game with me (that I've won) which I'll call illegit because we were both using bad decks. Either way, I'd like to point out Bela did amazingly well his 'break-through' year (and continues to do so) as well and it seems uncanny how parallel this is. Regardless, I welcome your addition to the top 4 of the state as it was getting pretty stale and I'm sure you'll raise our state's legitimacy that much more. Kinda sad you live so far away and I only get to play you so many times a year.

I can agree with this...

I can't wait for regionals this year, I am actually making a good deck choice this year instead of Flaridos.

Kason Day is showing promise, then again, I did beat him... 2/2 with a deck thats in his favor at 60-40and he got a god hand:p.

Aww, Mike, there are plenty of Bests for you...

I am not sure I can EVER beat the Best Numbers in the land? I can try, but the Woodlands is a force.

You all certainly have the BEST collection of Pokeballs in the Nation.

We definitely have the BEST friendly rivalry of any two PTOs out there!

A lot of my bests, are just because I have a DQ this year right outside my event.

If you get DQd go to DQ is our slogan!

Vince

Do you know how easy it is to look at your signature and tell what you're running?? Any selfrespecting Senior is running GG. Now go ahead and use something else but if it's not Magmortar, I hope you thinks it over a few.. I don't know....Hundred times!!!!

just shows how ignorent you are. Hurricane, T2 Banette, Random red face paint decks by Kevin- these have all been played by seniors that I respect. Some play GG because it's the BDIF, others play it because it doesn't require that much skill to play. Don't get me wrong, a good, skillfull player can stretch it to be 10X better than the n00b with the amazing list, but even that n00b can use the amazing attacks and powers of gardy/gallade and come out victorious.....especially if they just get lucky almost every match...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

DarkJake---Thank you for the compliment. I look forward to taking you on, as well as Colin and Bela.

Vegeta ss4---Yes, you 2-for-2'd me, but you have to realize, it was my first tournament ever!
