Well if it is such a big attack, and apparently "God" offends people, why not change it to full caps (GOD Blast).

How about G.O.D. Blast. All they have to do is says that the letters represent some random thing and that the letters were just a coinsadince.

It's just like TSD. If you look in the dictionary you'll find that "Space-time" is a word but "Time-space" isn't. Oh noes! We have proof that it was suposed to be reversed but they cencered it!:eek:
 
There's a reason why they didn't make it space-time distortion, but we aren't going to get into that lol. G.O.D blast would be a good idea though =D.

IMHO, Taking offence to the name " God Blast" is just making a fuss over nothing. But respecting other's beliefs is very important to life so if it will offend people then they may as well change the name.
 
Honestly, I think its going to be changed. Most Pokémon attacks always are. Unless its competely ridiculous and it doesnt show how "powerful" the attack is, Im fine with the change.

Time to chime in a bit more.

That is her personal choice, as far as I know only a very small percentage of people who believe in Creationism (Christians, Jews, Muslims etc.) in the US think this way. Most Creationist like me (I am a Christian btw) know it is a fictional game. Believe it or not we all have been taught about evolution but doesn't mean we have to believe it.

That kind of person is not in the majority and does not reflect the whole body of Creationist and that is her personal choice.

You are 100% right, this political correctness needs to stop, I find it disgusting that an extremely small majority of people that don't even play the game dictates what a card says, so don't blame the Christians, Atheists, Jews, Muslims etc......

Blame PUSA, or who makes the decision to change the name.

And just for the record im not offended or anything just curious im a christian and i dont see why it would be a big deal, then again i wouldnt care if they changed it i just wanted to know what others thought.---- thanks for the responses

if there was anything in the pokemon canon that gave cause for keeping the attack title, i would defend it more.

what was the card that was released years ago in japan that had the swastika, the reverse one that meant well-being? koga's something? and then they removed the symbol for the western populace, all because some graphic designer for the third reich decided to borrow the image, a symbol and concept dating back to the ancient world.

it's too bad that in an age of unparalleled global communication, that people cannot have a tad thicker skin.

The fact that they kept that off was probably a very good idea. Yes it's not a swastika, but at a glance it looks like it and that would offend a LOT of ppl. It would probably go beond offending ppl as it is a reminder of a horible time.

Oh, yeah. Koga's Golbat. Had a reverse swastika in the background. I spoke in a German accent every time I played it (which was hilarious, and none of the kids knew why I was acting like that. Win-win!).

But, yeah. This is one of the side effects of America being both a huge melting pot of cultures and a country where everyone has too much freedom.

Liberalism (sp?)? That's fine, we need people to stand up for our rights. Freedom? Fantastic; it's one of our country's founding principles. Neither one is a problem until stupid when people take their rights and freedom too far.

IMO, never give an idiot complete freedom.

Also, if you ask me, people who go to media sources or lawyers to complain about being offended by something need to be given a test to measure their grasp of basic logic. They pass the test, they may objectively put forth their opinions in our faces and the government eats the cost of the test. They fail the test, they get slapped in the face (by a politically elected face-slapper, of course) and have the cost of the test garnished from their wages. Idiots wanna waste our time? Make them pay for trying.
