It's gotta be hectic there, and I just want you to know your efforts to keep us informed are truly appreciated!
 
Round 2 for Jr & Sr have started. Pairings for Masters going up right now, should start within 5 mins.

I mean - the numbers of players stayed in the tournament towards to end of swiss which means minus those who dropped....

And will you list undefeated players after round 5?

I will try to give you the final number of players at the end of swiss, but you might have to remind me at the end of the tournament.

As for undefeated players I will not be able to post undefeated players since Nationals is being run on 4 different computers. Plus there is not the time between rounds and such to do that with this size of tournament. Sorry.
 
I don't know the correct numbers, but I think all 7-2's will make it into the "first" T32 and also a few 6-3's.

17 7-2 (come Ian help me on this one)

9 rounds with 260+ entrants is good. :D All the X-2s make the cut.

Then there is an extra round to cut each of the 32 top players in each flight down to two groups of 16? Match play?? or another single game round. This is effectively 10 rounds of swiss which is very good for 560 players

But if it is equivalent to 10 rounds of swiss why use flights at all? Oh I are so confussled. Psyduck HELP!
 
Ian I don't know if this extra T32 will be game or best of 3. I assume game.

and perhaps the system cannot handle 512+???? as one flight??


Also it's faster to run an extra T32 (let's call it that way) iso of a full 10th round with ++500 players.
Seating 2 x 32 players at least sounds easier/faster.

Yes, there will be round were the Top32 of each flight tonight. That will give us Top16 from each flight that will then be the Top32 on Sunday morning. The T32 flight round tonight will be a hour long best 2 out of 3, just like a normal Top round. Back to work for me :)
 
Wow, what an amazing turnout! This is the first tournament in the US to ever use the flights option in TOM, am I right?

Good luck to all playing, but most of all to all staff members. Hope you'll still manage to have fun despite the stress! ;)
 
This sounds like the best Pokemon event ever. I am very depressed that I can't be there, and jealous of all those who are there. Even those in the hive--who, while working their butts off, find the time to keep us updated with juicy nuggets. Thanks.

ory serves, that oregon states or was it regionals last year or was it the year before used flight system...

I just remembered about a statement made by POP, we are not going to run T64.
LOL actually this comes close.

I wonder how the players reacted when this was announced (flights+nr of rounds etc).
