Nice card to reduce Retreat cost. I havent ran it, but have noticed it teched in. Not a Good card to be stuck with on T2!!! I acually T1 a Ralts with a Pluspower and a LB, GOOD TIMES!

I give it a 3/10, becuase its NOT that useful!
9/10 with a PP and LB against a Ralts T1, lol!!!

I think its neat. It can actually save you from the bad start if you can Roseanne it and your preferred starter on T1/2. Then you can free retreat whatever you did start with and use the preferred starter with energy. Only thing is the lousy 30 HP on starts.

6/10 Its uses are indeed limited, but useful none the less.

I like it a lot! pretend you have a pokemon like rotom to use dual trans and it has 1 retreat cost, just attach this card and get free retreat to save energy. but it has 30 HP, Dual splash can knock this out.

My ratings:/ 6/10

6/10

There are possibilities that you may only get this Pokemon in your starting hand. Plus, its HP is very low. :(

However, it's Poke-Power is good; and it is able to save a deck's key Pokemon at times.

Each card serves it's own special purpose. Some cards are meant to be strong and do lots of damage, and some cards are meant to disrupt and confuse the opponent. Unown Q plays the role of aiding Pokemon's retreat cost. Let's take a look at the card.

It's only attack requires 1 colorless energy, making it splashable in any deck. Not only that, but it has free retreat, which makes it very easy to get it out of the active spot T1 if you are able to roseanne or bebe for the basic you'd rather start with. Once Unown Q is on the bench, you can activate it's Poke-Power and attach it to one of your Pokemon to reduce their retreat by 1. I know many times I've told myself that certain cards would be so much better if their retreat was 1 instead of 2 or FREE instead of 1. Free retreat is very nice in a format with very few free retreating Pokemon. The only lacking part about the card is it's HP. 30HP is pretty low in the game, putting it on the level with Magikarp and Feebas. It is definitely fragile, but many nice things are.

Of course, you can't score this card on the same level as Gardevior or Gallade or Empoleon, but why would you want to? The card's purpose is totally different from those cards! In what it does, giving your Pokemon a lower retreat cost, and being an useful tech in many decks, I think it does it's job very well. It's easy to splash into any deck, and is easy to get out of the active when you don't want to mess with it anymore. It's low HP can be made up with it's ability to remove itself from the field (as in attaching itself as a tool to one of your Pokemon) so it doesn't become a liability mid to late game.

I think this card could see some play in decks in the upcoming format, and possibly in decks at Worlds.

This card gets a :thumb: from me!

I have used this card in several decks for the sole purpose of saving bad starts. In a meta game that claydol is used in every deck, the dreaded baltoy start can be easily fixed with an Unown Q.

Also giving a Pokémon free retreat makes Warp Point even more effective. I also use this card as cannon fodder for Bring Down to save another Pokémon I would like to keep out another turn.

9 out of 10 decks can use this card. If you find yourself getting bad starts a lot try throwing in one of these and you may notice an increase in good starts.

Well, if it isn't an Unown Q! My, well this card can really weasel you out of terrible situations, like possibly getting your starter on the first turn draw and having to retreat. Or as mcoville said about the Baltoy start. This card is much better now because Windstorm is gone, but now it receives a 7/10 from me.

Unown Q is my favorite card in the format lol
as everyone else has said, helps with bad starts yadayadayada
10/10 :)

This card is very useful, -1 Retreat Cost can make even the nastiest of situations most of the time become fine

8/10 (the only other Unown that is more useful than this one is G)

Really great to use w/those that only have 1 Retreat Cost.
Decent to use w/2 Retreat cost. I'm sure we all can sacrifice a single Energy.

9/10=Limited/Unlimited

7/10 It is a great card that lets you keep your Warp Points for when you need your opponent to switch, Doesn't take up bench room, and is Roseanneable. On the flip side, bad HP (Empoleon one-shots this on the bench :( ) Not a great starter and gives weakness to Breloom. Still, I really like th card alot. Free retreat Wormadam plant Cloak is sexy ;)

This card helps bad starts turn into good starts but for players who don't think about it unown q can help out with getting scramble energy going but the odds of you actually getting it out makes it only take up space but is good when you get it out. My Rating:

9/10

Let's see Unown Q.... It has low hp making it a dangerous basic to start with. It's poke-power is very helpful to get a pokemon to your bench that you did not want active. Unown Q has weakness to psychic witch atm is not good weakness to have. No resistance is typical on most cards. Free retreat helps where if you start with this card and you have a way to get more basic on your bench, you can get out of that bad situation. Looking at this card uses it can help make a pokemon that has 1 retreat cost in to nothing witch a free retreat is always nice to have. It's attack Hidden Power is good for a cost of 20 for C.
I will give this card a 6/10 since good card to use in some decks but is a very bad to start with this pokemon.

You start with a lone Unown Q, your opponent starts with Ralts, attaches energy and plus power, gg. or any other basic that does 20 damage for one (i.e. almost nothing...)

Unown Q versus Unown Q start means whoever wins the toin coss wins the game.

I used it as part of an engine that gets me Turn 2 Claydoll 80% of the time. (Mentor, Rosanne, Phione, Unown Q).

The question with any fragile basic pokemon in a deck is... "Will it win you more games than it lose for you."

*** EDITED COMMENT ***
Funny, the only way you loss with a turn 1 Unown Q versus Unown Q match up is to actually run Unown Q. (Unless there is another often-used psycic pokemon that 20 damage for 1 energy.)

Thus, anyone who says you can lose turn 1 to in the mirror match, you only lose to the same people that are willing to risk the unown Q in there decks in the first place. A bit circular logic here.

I cant say antyhing that hasnt been said. Free Retreat good. Fix Bad Start Good. Unown Q Good.
30 HP bad. Solution? DONT LEAVE IT ON THE BENCH

9/10
Those who say this is bad are also the same people who bench every basic they get the moment they get it.

I like this card alot. Free retreat or at least lower retreat is always a plus. It's also searchable with
Roseannes Research.

7/10

Any basic Pokemon with 30HP is very high risk for putting in your deck.

Q is no exception. You draw this as your only Pokemon in your opening hand and the game can end on turn one, before you even play a card.

Any Basic Psychic that does 20 w/one energy will finish him off. There are even a few that will do 30 with a flip of the coin. Off the wall Pokemon like Farfetch'd will get the KO with just one energy and no coins.

Find some other way to retreat your Pokemon.

0/10.

No value here, move on.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

How bad is Q...

With one energy...

Do you realize Q vs. Q is instant an KO?
