He gets the bragging rights that go with the title.
He joins the hall of fame as a nationals winner.

Don't belittle the achievement, ultimately that hurts everyone.

Jesus Christ I dont know this guy Gino who won (dont know any poke players who dont live in my state cuz I don't leave it to play) . I kinda dont even like him rite now because he didnt post the nats pictures yet hahaha. But hey it's not his fault PUI/POP or whoever didnt hire a photographer to take good pictures.

If he wants to make a video tribute to himself who cares? Let him. Nobody is forcing you to watch it. And the "white-bread" comment was really ignorant and uncalled for! Im not even white, nowhere near it, but that offended me. Thats a good "moderator" u have there. If you think the video makes him look like an idiot then ok thats your opinion. I didnt mind it. If you think it makes the game as a whole look bad then thats pretty foolish of you, to judge the game on 1 person, champ or not. If I judged this game based on some of the people I saw playing it I'd call it a anti-social person game that a lot of overweight people seem to play. Let him be cocky or whatever: not every person in pokemon has to be the same. Let the guy live, get over it he won. Some of the things you say make it seem as if youre resentful someone you know personally and personally deem a good player and person didn't win. He admit he misplays ok, he STILL won tho right? I didnt know poke players were supposed 2 be robots who never made errors. Congrats again Gino.. After these post Im seriously rooting 4 you to win worlds!

But the problem is, it DOES make the game look bad. Thats something you would expect from a yu-gi-oh player (or a drool masters player), but not from a pokemon player, where respect and kindness is usually top priority. And I can tell you from playing against gino since forever, that gion is anything but those. The National Champion should try to push those morals forward, not backwards.
 
meganium45- Thanks it feels good to hear someone sees my huge progress. Although like 2006 im still not like 100% sure of certain rulings on certain things. Hence my 10 second ruling thingy at nationals which I learned from. See ya at worlds!

Jigsaw- Yeah US vs. MX vs. CA. That should be madd fun. All champs run plox lets do thisss.

ryanvergel- Martin might of won with delta. Undeafeated whatever. The deck was a totally secret deck at the time. But from what I heard that dude didnt even make it and it was given to him. So if you wanna talk about creativity wise and skill wise. I made my deck. With that "Breloom tech" That everyone knew about since Florida Regionals and didn't pay any attention to it. I know this is a florida vs. gino thing. I knw what your thinkin because gin came down to florida regionals and got 2nd, he got lucky, so at nats he wont do good. All of Florida was in nats and I won that. As you would say 'sour grapes'?

I knew GG,PLOX would be the dominant deck for nationals. What better way to counter that with a auto-win vs. Mirror match. I didnt lose mirror all day. As for a qoute like victory was won. victory as in the winner and won as in won it all. I dont see how that dont make sense to anyone its just i guess to some play-on words. As for my penmanship signed card. Ya my writing isnt too good cuz I still right in print and dont use cursive alot. It'll get better though.

As for being egotiscal and failing. I won the biggest tournament ever in the history of pokemon. Technicially that makes me the best player to ever play this game in the history of pokemon. Theres no failing with winning nats and winning over $5000 and trulely backin it up i'll do what I want. If I say ima do something ima do it. At worlds ima top cut. As for breaking traditions of past national champions ima break a tradition for you personally. Im gonna be the only United States Champ to win nationals and also top cut and progress at worlds this year.

Scizor- Im suprised you didnt have a bigger post then "I couldn't have said it better myself". Then again you got your invite so hopefully ya'll stop your wining and complaining.

Rew- They giving me crap its aiight. Not like ima drop out of high school because of it. O nvm I already graduated. :tongue: Insults on me thats like high school talk right there. badganondorf- Ya those misplays be killing me. Its because I never playtest. :mad: But for some players be glad im misplaying as for right now. Im more dangerous when I dont make mistakes. So be glad I make them mistakes. In the finals of nationals I lost game 1 due to misplays and still won nats. It's w/e sooner or later ima be misplay free and be more beast than ever!

PuRpLe- I want to get my deck immortilized. I dont wanna win nats with plox. Then some other flunkie wins with plox and becomes the icon for the deck. :nonono: Ima do everything in my power to win worlds.

You have to understand the difference in hate and stupidty,I even congratz you on your win,BUT the video to yourself is very ego driven and dumb. Right now your acting like a Guido,Itatlions who have spikey hair and love techno dance and who tan alot,but who are really weird and do the weirdest things.Even tho their Stathan Island based,u seem to have embraced their culture as your own.

Seriosly, I've been playing YGO for a very long time, but even the most arrogant YGO players I know would be ashamed of doing a tribute for themselves, and acting like this in the video

A true national champion would at least understand that beeing national champion doesn't meen to be the best player in the us.
There is always a lot of luck involved, pairings, donking etc.
And saying mirror is an autowin, is just a joke, expecially when speaking about plox.
Your deck is teched for mirror, i don't doubt that its a good deck, i really think that using breloom is a good idea and teching for mirror was the best possible decision. But still, Plox Mirror can never be an autowin, theres just so much luck involved in the opening hands etc.

Although its a bit dissapointing that plox won, no hate for playing a great plox version, I don't doubt that youre a good player, and no hate for admiting you made misplays, because eevryone does them, and whoever sais he doesn't is just arrogant and blind, I doubt there is anyone who doesn't misplay.

But beein a bit more realistic about what you did really wouldn't hurt, its ok to be proud, its ok to think you did a good job, but the way you're acting like you're the greatest human alive is just...

Just delete this video and hope everyone forgets about it and you'll never hear about it again...
And leetspeak was cool many years ago, I doubt theres anyone left who uses leetspeak except 13 year old counter strike playing kiddies...

The thing is you make the game looks really dumb. In outsiders' eyes, your clip is what Pokemon TCG means to them. A "champ" somehow represents the game. You make people think "HE could win Pokemon? How stupid the game can be". I'm not attacking you, ask 10 strangers to watch the clip and see how they will judge the game / the champ.

In players' eyes, the majority don't want to see you winning, because you are more high and mighty than you are supposed to be, and whenever you are asked about how you won, you will attribute it to yourself as you are gino, etc. You acted like a champ before you genuinely won something, and even though now you are a champ people show no respect to you.

Fortunately the game doesn't become a hit as it "should" be, or the game's likely to go down because of this.

I couldn't have said that better myself than Ryan, but my comment is more objective.

When my daughter asked me permission to play competitively I said yes and encountered some the best and respectable group of people I know, but if I saw this video before that time the answer would have been a definite no......

What a disappointment!...............................................................

Ewwwwww Lol Bein Guido isnt something to be Proud off,I can understand you being proud to be Italian,but Guido is a term that is kinda disrespectful and shows the BAD parts of Italian culture.

I saw the video,it was terrible. After seeing the video and then seeing your responses to the video,you only made the statement:

"GG/Plox makes n00bs look elite"

seem so accurate.

Also he knows that Italian stuff cuz he saw a video on youtube making fun of it.:lol:
