Deck Garage Decks- Feed the ego?

Ok, now I have checked over the couple past weeks, and I have see at least 10 decks with the "It will win blah blah or best deck out there," that is.. how u say.. Bull Crap = /
I mean.. All of these decks are THE BEST OUT THERE!!... for a format that hasn't started yet!!!! -_-'
If it's the best out there, why would you need help on it?

Also, it's amazing how certain decks just seem to have no close or bad matchups "yeah this beats everything".. if that would be the case.. then why ask for help on it???

I feel that most people post these decks to feed their ego.. the ego being "I'm the best deckbuilder out there!!!" I saw a thread saying the deck will win Cities.. how do you even know that??? We are going to most likely get another set before then.. how would you know that it's going to win????

----
However, not all decks are posted to feed egos.. example: Scorpio is a great deck and they aren't claiming it's the BDIF, they say it could be a contender, and they have actually TESTED MATCHUPS instead of just saying "ya we win sorry gg"...

Thoughts??

EDIT:
Also, it seems lately that if you don't put "article included" or make some absurd statement about your deck, nobody posts on it.

well.. that was my rant for the month:thumb:

Dude, you are SO right, Hatter! If a deck is SO good, why Tell EVERYONE about it, I have a few decks I am working on, BUT I dont tell Everyone and their Grandma about how its going to contend with the other up-and-coming decks.

I understand and Agree completely with what you are coming from, dude!

Yeah, lol, I used to see this a lot back when I was active in the deck forum. I remember even seeing a dude with two active topics on the front page... both claimed to be the best XD

Josh, you are very much right about this. Kind of like people are saying that AMU and Kingdra are unbeatable.....that's a lie. These decks aren't going to have the same power that GG was able to focus on this season. There aren't going to be a whole lot of lockdown decks to block powers and whatnot. People like to let their egos get in the way sometimes.

I'm glad people are agreeing..
There should be a sub-forum for : My deck is UBER AND X-0
(when the x would be one :p)

Also, with people posting how amazing their decks are, I feel its taking away from the other players who ACTUALLY WOULD LIKE HELP on their deck. You'll see people posting heir deck 3 or 4 times thinking that maybe nobody noticed it, when, in reality, they don't care since you aren't making an outrageous statement.
That is a shame.

I've stopped posting in the deck forum mostly because there's no point in helping people when there deck is awesome.

I say, if they think it's so amazing.. make an article about it

Best LEGAL and CONTROLLED rant I've seen lately. This is so true. The sad thing is, a lot of people posting these decks are pretty new to the gym, or atleast from what I've seen. How do we know these aren't just a bunch of noobs? People post their decks a certain way based on how the other decks they see are posted, hence everyone is putting in an alledged "article/mini article". Its the honest people with matchups(as stated) who don't just get all cockey, who actually have the potentially good decks. I feel someone should write an article ands sticky it the deck help forum, so that new and old members on the gym can get a correct feel for what is necessary when posting a deck.....but JMO.

This is how I see it. A lot of people don't travel to events, so their success with their deck is based solely on their local league. If the players at their league are unexperienced with the game, an average deck can go undefeated. People find this site, post their undefeated deck, and are surprised when people think it's not the best deck.

you know I hate to be mean to noobz (actually I really don't I wear a shirt saying " i pwn noobz" to tournaments) but you are totally right hatter.

I am sick of people saying a deck is top tier when they only tested against gliscor or another bottom tier deck (you know who you are)

haha, I remember being younger and I would play with my neighbor. It got to the point where I would win EVERY GAME... I mean EVERY SINGLE GAME. I thought I was uber good and had one of the best decks ever (turns out mine was very bad, but his was among the ranks of below Torterra starter) . Then I went to league for first time ever, pwned a n00b twice my age twice in a row. This confirmed my belief that I was awesome. Then I played some better players... *cough...totally killed my ego*

They'll realize soon enough just as I did that you have to study and practice hard to truly get good

Ive noticed a lot of this to, and it just gets old. Please make reasonable matchups other then 60/40 being the closest matchup the deck has. >_>

Such a true thread. There is no BDIF yet, and we don't even know if there will be a BDIF. There are so many possibilities out there. Who cares if Kingdra/AMU are good? There's a lot of really good decks out there.

Hopefully by the time BR's come around in full force, the real decks will show their faces.

At least the arguments on here are a little bit more mature, and people are actually willing to take criticism on their opinions. I roam between two Pokemon forums, and my goodness, people aren't willing to take the fact that Kingdra is not going to be as amazing as everyone is saying. Yes, we are anticipating decks to be good, but man.

Yes.

It's just all speculation at this point...

The time of DP-LA archetypes will come...

I agree with you Hatter. I especially dislike all the "article included" titles, as most seem to be very misleading.

IMHO, more than any other part of the Gym the Deck Garage seems to have changed in character over the past year. I think that the front page deck articles started the process ... and I think that the dominance of G&G played a part. Anyway I'm hoping that things will change for the better this upcoming season. That we have more viable deck choices and that folks actually start looking for help and sharing ideas without the fake "article included" and attitudes.

The stuff you are saying in your rant is the whole reason why I stay out of that part of the forum.

I find it also quite offensive to those who are new and get very stupid advice like 'get a Claydol cuz he's soo good'.
With remarks like that, I really get the impression that some of us feel superior with their deck building 'skills'.

Also, stuff like that also gives the impression to me that they are 'forcing' newbies to get certain cards even before they even know how the game works.

I agree with ya hatter. I have even seen some where they said they had the best version of a deck when the deck isn't even out yet or played in any tournaments.

There does seem to be alot of decks that claim to be unbeatable - no deck is unbeatable
At league level alot of decks can be unbeatable mine wins most of the time but that is only because they are untimed matches
i expect if you took most of these decks to a high level event they would get trashed - in theory some deck ideas are absolutly fantastic however in a competitive enivronment most of them cant hold out against a well tested deck
