So you charge up, send out a chomp, I kill it, then what? You could send out a stall, but all that does is give me another free prize. The fact that you need to 2HKO all my pokemon already makes the matchup waaaaaay in AMU's favor.

We use energy switch in ours, the pickup is a flip away from not working.

Why not run both? Late game you will not have a lot of energy in your deck, so Energy Pickup just recycles a little. Even if you get tails, it isn't like you are getting a negative result. The tails didn't harm you or anything. Pickup is just something that helps.

No the reason you won't see AMU isn't because it's expensive. You won't see it because it's garbage. 200 every two turns unless mesprit gets knocked out...then it's three turns to get another one. Leafeon might help speed it up to give a hit every turn but with so many level X's in play Luxray is going to own it. 90 for plasma and 150 for shock bolt to a leafeon if need be. No contest man.

why not run both? cause its a deck space

AMU is never going to be that big. I play Torterra. Once I OHKO your first Mesprit Lv.X, you lose. Sure, feel free to hit my 140 HP beast for 60 damage with Uxie Lv.X or maybe 40-70 damage with Azelf Lv.X. Then I one-shot you. Again. And again. And again. Now, I know someone's going to bring up the issue of Snowpoint Temple. I run PlusPowers. And Buck's Training. Without Mesprit Lv.X, AMU does not react well to tanks. Meaning, once Mesprit is dead, the AMU player's strategy is dead, too.



You don't. Whoever said that was wrong. Mesprit Lv.X hits for 200 every other turn.

you're right there are a few hitches agaist tanks, but tortorrable isnt actually any good so no worries there. anyone who wants to play torterra next season and win will be dissapointed, end of.

Stop it with this written down game of pokemon. It doesn't prove anything, these scenarios will hardly ever take place, and if they do, who is to say that an opponent hasn't teched in an answer for that scenario? Theories can't be argued upon, afterall, they are just theories.

Ive gone over that matchup a million times in my head and no matter how I look at it, its strongly in AMU's favor. Even if they do have a tech, I don't see it being able to help much.

I am however open to anything so I'm not going to play against it and not expect something.

In your head is meaningless if it's scenarios like this. You can't forsee every single tech option, either.

Ppl always are surprised. Think SAUSAGE vs PLOX. PLOX WON. The creators thought there was little way they could lose with all the beach/cess lock. Guess what.

This is true league is good for some playtesting and redshark is okay but the true test for anything will be at BR's becuase then you find out what the best are using and the strategy.:thumb:

Thank you for realizing how the deck really works. Ya the 200 a turn is great once you get it going, but you don't NEED it to win games.

POINT = ANYONE can build a deck list w/o understanding HOW to play that list (mechanics).

The list can only get you SO FAR
At some point, people have to come to terms w/ the fact that they may NOT be a strong player and NO LIST can guarantee them a win.

There are guys in our league that can say "can I borrow your deck," thumb through the cards, play YOUR deck and WIN.

The more you understand the individaul cards and how each one can be used, the more you can PREDICT your opponents play and, then, start trying to avoid the KOs.

Having said that...

EVERYBODY JUST PLAY GROUDON.

NOBODY TAKE AN AMU DECK TO ANY TOURNAMENT.
(and trade your sprtes to me... )

You just mis-communicated what you meant to say. Your exact words were

If you meant something different, you just chose your words poorly. It's not that I'm stupid.

I know AMU isn't just a 200 damage a turn deck. But 200 damage is one of the best things about the deck.
