Mewtwo Lv. X & Unown G: What's a Mighteyena to do?

Everyone who's anyone is running a Mighteyena in their AMU builds to counter Mewtwo Lv. X if it comes around. I mean, look at the matchups, Mighteyena makes it so Mewtwo is a sitting duck in the active position. All they can really do is hope they have a Switch or Warp Point on their next turn.

HOWEVER...

What does Mighteyena do against a Mewtwo Lv. X with an attached Unown G? The Mighteyena becomes worthless! I am a little in need of someone to answer this for me... I am curious exactly what you would do. A smart Mewtwo player would probably be playing 2 or 3 Unown G's for that very purpose.

Considering Windstorm is no longer in existence, Mewtwo and Unown G looks like an unstoppable combo, plus Pachirisu can't attack it.

Is there any possible way to get around this combo with AMU?

Oh yeah, bet that was stupid of me.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

So pretty much Mewtwo Lv. X & Unown G is an unstoppable combo.

Wrong. Linoone GE can switch around poke-tools for nothing, or you could always just add it your own Mewtwo Lv.X.

And Linoone does that as an effect of attack, which still doesn't work.

The only possible thing to do is KO Mewtwo with your Mewtwo counter. Xatu can almost do it, Exeggutor can do it. Think the counters one step futher.

4 Warp Point > Mightyena tech

Simply said. I know there are still some AMUs with less than 4 Warp Point around *looks to front page* but those will lose to any Mewtwo + Unown G combo. Mightyena doens't help and most other techable Pokémon can't do enough damage for low energy costs.

btw there are lots of hybrid AMU decks like AMU + Leafeon or something like that. I think they are a lot better than pure AMU.

Milotic GE seems slightly better b/c it counters Lv X's instead of just basics like Mightyena. Plus it can slow down the Mewtwo's attacks with it's attack. Another possibility is Mime Jr. evolved into Mr. Mime MT. It can ohko mewtwo given they pick the wrong side of the coin and a plus power but that seems like a stretch of the imagination. Although it does double as a Kingdra tech.

^Heck, Gardevoir sounds better than Milotic IMO. Power lock, same amount of energy, and same kind as AMU runs.

However, I tried Gardevoir, and the 3 energy is a HUGE issue.

UMA would just lose to that automaticallt I suppose, assuming no alternate tech was in the place of mightyena. That is, 3 cards for a match up when mewtwo doesn't do much for other match ups, and Unown G isn't extremly effective unti IFDS. I wouldn't worry about it, personally.

Milotic?

Play Tyrogue + Hitmontop with Mewtwo X and Unown G. Swoop in for Gut Spin, switch back to your Mewtwo X-G. Instant annoying, and obtainable by Rosanne's. You need FCC to do it tho...

The solution is simple: don't run Mightyena. Warp Point (both ways around) kills its effectiveness.

Just run a better evolution that can improve your matchup vs Luxray/Kingdra/any other popular deck, and you will be countering Mewtwo Lv.X indirectly.

Or you can just kill mewtwo X with another pokemon.........................

Linoone is an evolved pokemon, the Mewtwo Lv.X poke-body doesn't work on it...

You lost me... why won't Linoone work? It moves the G to another card. It becomes stuck to that card right? Yes it is an attack but it solves the G problem doesn't it?
