The Need for a Pokemon Dress Code

I can only guess this is a joke thread...seriously, how are you going to enforce a dress code? Why turn off even more people to the game along with the new POP Policy?

So what we can do is dress up in foreign language cards and then be banned because our outfit is not in English! Brilliant!

Yes, and we should all grow up to be CEOs of major corporations.

I will wear nothing but a band T-shirt and ripped blue jeans to an official Pokemon event from now on. Prof. Clay had beter like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Metallica.

Do you realize we are banning Japanese cards from the game to 'make it easier'? Making a whole bunch more rules on how I have to dress and act before/during a tournament isn't making it easier on anyone. When the judges have to worry about all the small things they can't even get to the bigger ones.

Sir it is my pleasure to respectfully inform you that you are so freaking dense it's not even funny.

I love how some of you are taking this so seriously, when we all know (or I sure pray) that this is a joke, cause if it isn't, there are A LOT of people who need some therapy =/

We don't need a dress code, what we need is some common sense.

Here: A Little Thing Called Common Sense.

I have, however, edited the sections on parenting and nudity, but it's mostly the same.

Seriously, a dress code isn't the thing for Pokemon. You just wont see us dress up to play a game.

Go tell the people who play Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, or any other game to dress up. They will react the same way. Playing a card game is not a formal event, thus I have no need to dress formally. I'll wear a suit to prom, though. But that is, of course, a formal event.

You're right, you've made the point like 4 times, do you not realize that this whole thread is most likely a joke, and if it isn't, you're only making a fool of your self at this point, and leave these people to whatever

Except probably a lot worse, they'd go on a shower strike and bathe even less.

@ Drew: You are the funniest person ever. But I know you dress quite nicely for many of your events so I can see how this could resort to not being a joke at all. (even though it has to be pretty close, since Ness seems to be in on it as well..)

We can't, but a POP instituted policy could. You play their game, you play it by their rules, they can tell you to do whatever you want.
Yes, however, they have been doing this for a very, very, very long time and apparently haven't had any issues with casual clothing before. Especially since they produce it and give it away/sell it. (still not sure which one)

I don't think they will anytime in the near future.

Ok guys, I think all the TOs and PTOs could see the point here.

At tournamnets, esspecially ones in public places, people with their kids often come and check things out, sometimes even wanting to get a POP ID and start playing. Think about how many people would be turned away because they never knew Pokemon Dress Code existed because they never knew about the tournament.

*New kid walks by a game store where cities is being held*
*Kid walks in and asks the TO about what is going on*
*TO tells him, and he is interested in learning Pokemon*
"sorry", says the TO "but I can't let you play cause you have to dress properly, please come to some other tournamet to learn how to play the game."

Also, it's hard enough to get kids dressed up for church, BUT for POKEMON events....lol

I'm not trying to insult the OP, but this would be a horrible, horrible, horrible idea.
The point about new players is the only convincing one so far, but new players at Nationals?
They're not exactly spot on to win anyway, so I guess we could allow them to play but ban them from top cut or something.

Honestly, it's time to take this game out of the stone age. If I show up to a tournament and my opponent looks like they shop at Wal-mart, then I am really in a position to not even want to play out the rest of the event. I do not want myself to be associated with people who don't know what it's like to spend 300 dollars on sunglasses and 2000 dollars on real diamond earings like myself. This policy will ensure some much needed class is put into the game we all love to play and promote.

Oh, and I think this should for SURE go to gym leaders. There is no way having a scummy looking gym leader will encourage parents to buy cards and bring their kids to league. We really need some better image around here IMO!

So if "gangs" are such a threat, why dont all of them place at every premier event? I'll wear a blues clues shirt, and my friend will. OMG were a gang now run everyone theyre wearing matching blues clues!!!!!!

I swear people need to shower..

More grease in their hair then a jar of crisco..

Smell like rotting fish/ molding cheese

Wear things that only a blind person would choose

But god.. Wear some deoderant you smelly people!!
At reginals there was a guy who smelled so bad I had to scoop my game because I would have thrown up if I stayed around him any longer. Breath was something awful. Like he just ate out of a dumpster and brushed his teeth with tree moss. His hair resembled that of a 2 toed sloth. And with every move he made a more aful and raunchy smell potrtruded from the depths of Krakatoa. And he acted as though it wasn't even happening.

Also head and shoulders shampoo is made for a reason.
When you look like you just got done climbing mt.everest it's just horrid.

Suggestions for these people that costs less then the newest call of (dutty) game that you've been playing for 3 weeks straight:
1. Head and shoulder shampoo
10$
2. Axe body wash
5$
3. Crest whitening tooth paist
7$
4. Axe deoderant
4$
5. Bounty laundry soap
10$
6. Nail clipper
2$
7. Clothes hamper (don't wear clothes after you place them in this devise)
5$

Hope this helps to settle some of the confusion between good and bad hygene.

M.I.C. :)
