So ya thats the topic ,sorry if this is in the wrong place though.

so ya why do alot people hate these cards or hate playin against it so much i mean in the next year or not even half a year this is gonna be 95 % of the game just like delta poke when they came out a while back ???

Largely because of the broken trainer line associated with them, I would guess.

That and the fact that they will surely cause the phasing out of "normal" Pokémon for awhile.

SP decks have a lot of tricks which are just plain annoying to face:

Power Spray - oops now your Uxie/Azelf/Togekiss (lol) is a useless bench hog.

Poke Turn - think you will KO my Dialga next turn? Think again. Think your safe from a KO? Crobat G, Poke Turn, Crobat G, GG.

They are also expensive to collect and hard to build properly and play, so you can't just netdeck them and expect to win like you could with Gallade/Gardevoir.

I <3 SP decks

Poke Turn / Energy gain / Power Spray and the difficulty of getting hold of Dialga G Lv X??

i have no problem i mean i have a complete legos deck wich is 95 % foil note the only things im missin is baltoy and 5 water energys and i have a weavile /honch/toxi tank deck built completly and have alot more sp stuff left but i mean isnt there gonna be alot more sp stuff to come out to help people who dont have any of this ???i mean this stuff cannot be that hard but i do play alot of people that say they cant get ahold of alot stuff so idk ?

I am starting to think that GeChamp might be viable for Nationals, even with the new format. It just PLOWS through these decks.

Simple answer: They don't like losing to it, or they can't get the cards so they can play it themselves.

It's just the fact that they can cause havok on the first turn if they go second. It happened to me a Regionals. I got stuck with an unown g first turn and DarthPika Crobat G'd me twice then, Uxie'd, played a Cyrus, pulled another poke turn, played to pick up the Palkia G in front, then Psychic Restored for the game....After waiting 5-6 hours to play, we played for 3 minutes. It's like a return of the skilled donk.

I like sp decks, but they can be annnoying.

Gengar/Machamp has a good match up against Dialga/Palka G decks, but isn't so good against Weavile/Toxitank/Honchkrow decks.

There are already too many different SP decks for one deck to be a counter to all of them, and that is going to be more true when the next set comes out.

It's like a return of the skilled donk.

At least it's better than the unskilled donk *looks at Macheap*.

Our whole group at Regs played Galactics except me, with darrell winning we all still hate it

No other deck in the whole format has so many field changing cards as Galatics, so much field control ruins 95% of the rest of the decks in the format. Basics shouldn't be so overpowered nuff said

They make you feel helpless. You have to just sit there while your opponent does all sorts of fancy dancing with her Crobats and Cyrus's and PokeTurns, and when it comes to your turn (if you even get a turn), you end up getting Power Sprayed! I'd rather just get donked or clobbered than feel like I'm playing against a slippery eel.

But I'm sure there's an SP deck in my future. Hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. :thumb:

They have a ton of support, and pokemon with unstopable bodies like Dialga G lvx's and Toxicroack's. Next set it gets worse!!

because it's annoying andf repetitive seeing the same thing again and again, kinda like gardylade last format.

No... Weavile might beat Gengar, but it takes a long time to charge Weavile with Unown G, and when you spend all that time doing so, they'll just send up a Machamp and either Take Out if you didn't G it, or Hurricane punch. It's hard, there isn't a G deck that consistently beats it.

Its a game denial deck, and game denial is always utter boring.
A good deck (except g stuff / machamp) these days doesnt need a strategy or (beware) a synergie.
A good deck just needs to have a way to survive through all the deafening/mesprit/power spay/honchkrow/donk madness.
A deck that can live and setup against disruption is all you need.

2 Years ago you had epic battles with evolutions, there was stuff like metaknight lbs etc. Today everyone thinks you're insane if you run a stage 2 line, and even more so if it cant attack for less than 3 nrgs.

The aim of all of these decks isnt to win a game but to win before the game even statrs, just snipe your opponent off and lock them and beat up a few basics while they cant fight back.
You just have no freedom in playing at all, all you need to worry about is how you can coutner all those mesprits/sprays/deafens etc, when you draw an opening hand you first check if you can survive a t1 donk, then how you play when you're locked for 10 turns in a row, then how you can handle deafen, and then if you could setup in case a game would actually happen.

Here is what I have to say; I hate G decks. Nasty Quick. And even strong. A swarm is effective. But also weak agaonst Machamp. (the duh moment of the century) But I say forget them and worry about the cards you have. Think how best to beat them. It's human nature to beat something harness that. Bring out the mastermind in yourself. And just have fun. Gosh!

Whatever you do, don't play it. Flips will kill you, fainting spell is extremely unreliable. It lsoes to straight Gengar, Gengar loses to Unown G, and Machamp loses to Gengar, so you lose either way.

Sure it has decent G matchups, but nothing like straight Machamp has on it.

If they send up a Machamp, you send up a Toxicroak, if they send up Gengar, you use Weavile . . .

But that's just theory . . . you can't always assume you will have the right Stage 2 ready to go whenever you need it, especially in a deck which splits its resources like Gengar/Machamp. It is MUCH easier to get a Basic SP Pokemon out . . . attach, Energy Gain, Galactic Switch . . .
