HGSS Box Ratio Findings

Great news!

But seems like it will be difficult to get 4 prime of the same such as 4 feraligatr prime. Meh

You are WRONG. Think about it. If in every 2 boxes you get 2 of 4 of the Prime and 1 of the 2 of the Prime than it becomes a lot easier.

If this were like the Ex's then instead of getting 2-3 per 3 boxes, you would be getting 1. That is a HUGE difference.

From what you can read here, it seems that the distribution of a box might be:

A:
Rare Spot: 24 Rares, 8 Holos, 3 Legends and Red Garados
RH Spot: 6 Primes, 30 other cards

or

B:
Rare Spot: 24 Rares, 8 Holos, 4 Legends
RH Spot: 6 Primes, Red Garados, 29 other cards

Does that sound approximately right?

It is Gyarados. You are forgetting the Y.

Taken from Pokebeach.com homepage:

"Pokemon Prime and basic Energy are not available as reverse holos. In the Japanese set, there were reverse holo Pokemon Prime cards, but that's not the case for the English release. The secret rare Gyarados card is available in both holo and reverse holo versions, but Alph Lithograph, the other secret rare, is only available as a full holo card. As for box ratios, you can get 5-6 Pokemon Prime and 2-4 LEGEND cards per box. Basic Energy are in one out of every 3-4 booster packs. Pokemon Prime replace the reverse holo in a booster pack, so it's presumably possible to get both a regular holo and Pokemon Prime in one pack. Alph Lithograph only seems to be available in one out of every three booster boxes while the Gyarados is in almost every box as either a holo or reverse holo. The silver Alph Lithograph card from the original Japanese set will most likely be thrown into our next English HGSS set."

Still mad they had to cut out Crobat Prime...

At least I have 2 Amphy Prime!~

From what I've seen....

Typhlosion Very Common
Donphan Common
Feraligatr Common
Amphy Uncommon
Blissey Uncommon-Rare
Meganium Rare
Top half of the legends seemed more present then the bottom half.

I found two strange pulls at my pre-release. One of the packs that my mom oppened had a Ampharos Prime and an Alph Lithograph in it. And one of my friends pulled a Feraligatr Prime and a shiny Gyarados out of one pack. (I saw both packs oppened myself) Has anyone else seen pulls like these in this set?

Meganium Rare

Meganium Prime was the easiest at my prerelease. I even saw two pulled out of one box.

I saw more ho-oh bottom than top and more lugia top than bottom.

Also red gyra is not a secret rare. It is in the set being the last card and relatively common. One kid got his hands on 2 in a draft.

At our pre with about 50 people we saw 2 lithographs. Well, at least there not going to be staples...

It seems that TPCi messed up again in NOT printing the Energy in RH, but I have only had one person confirm that they didn't pull any.

How about also saying "Thanks TPCi for listening to the player base and inproving the distribution of chase cards!"?

Fair is fair.

By the way, do the Japanese sets have RH basic energy?

^ - Although its good that the Primes arent that rare its the same in japan so I guess they had to do this.
And the fact remains that most boosters still contain nothing but trash, I mean look at these holos... really?

yea, i pulled a feraligator prime along with a red gyarados card in the same booster also.

and it seemed like blissey was the most common prime in our pre-release

I could replace this entire post with...

"whine, whine, whine".

Seriously, this is the best rare distribution this game has ever seen. Good cards are easier to find than ever, including the Trainer cards. Through a Prerelease and two 4-pack drafts (not opening the 2 bonus packs, so about 14 boosters), I got something like 30 Trainers, Supporters, and Special Energy. That's not a half-bad distribution, isit? I only got 2 Primes, but I passed my second Meganium for an Oak in the draft (and very glad that I did at that). You're getting at least 10 cards in a box that were considered EX-rare or rarer before coming to the States. Remember that no set in PTCG history has contained more than 8 on average cards of that caliber. And you're still whining and moaning about the rarity distribution.

I feel sorry for you and players of your kind that can't seem to see any positive in playing or collecting this game.

If there is 5-6 PRIMES in a box, that will be nice so that the price of them will go down a lot.

Yeah...
The thing is that Prime are more somewhere between Holos and Lv.X, IMO they should end up between 10-12 $ in the end. I love Prime and I think its a great idea but still boosters dont seem to pay off.
How much do you pay to play a pr? 25$? Over here its more like 30/35. But anyway you get 8 Boosters so you probably get one prime and probably around 2 trainers? So the prime prolly is around 12$, of cause you could get one like Meganium which isnt that great. You'll probably also get one usefull foil card. (There are 3 so this is a pretty good expectation)

Of cause thats much better then before but in the end buying singles just seems to be more efficient.
And I think thats just sad, I like opening boosters but the moment you draw a Arcanine you'll see what I mean. I just wish they could actually give us a series with a decent prime rate that is not filled with trash otherwise. I agree that, if the foils and rares would be useful this would be a great series.

Arcanine = Good!!!!

 with above post

Anyway, Looks like I want to go to a PR. but I can't, as I went to cities. Hoping Arcy or ninetales is in the Typhlosion deck, and 2 of the 4 good primes are in tins. (Gatr and Ty out of Don and Bliss)

I saw almost the opposite of that, with Donphan being rare, and Blissey being common. I really think that there is no Prime/LEGEND rarer than another.

What is the ratio of DCE-pack.

They're just a regular uncommon, and I've seen a ratio of about 4 per box, since most people I know got one.

Name me a single set that DIDNT have trash rares.

Seriously man, even among the rares there are a bunch of decent cards. This time its the Primes you're hunting for. With 6 in a box thats 1 every 6 boosters you're guaranteed a good card (Tho arguably Meganium isnt good but soit). Then theres stuff like Jumpluff, Ninetales, Slowking and a few others that people will want. 1 in 4 packs will have GOOD rares, then not counting the Trainers/Energy.
