I disagree, if I remember correctly, the first print run of Ex: Ruby and Sapphire had a very good ex distribution ratio..

Yeah, but that was an out an out error that they corrected in the second print run.
Every three packs you got an ex Pokemon!

But, I really am loving this set's distribution ratio and pray that it stays for a few sets because I like having extra money for things other than pokemon cards..lol

The 'standard' print run for RS, Sandstorm, and maybe Dragon was 6 ex per box. Always forget if Dragon was 3 or 6 ex per box.

My box had the following:
1x Ampharos Prime
1x Blissey Prime
1x Donphan Prime
1x Feraligatr Prime
1x Meganium Prime
2x Typhlosion Prime

A grand total of 7 Primes

1x Luia Top
1x Ho-oh Bottom

A grand total of 2 Legend Cards.

0x Red Gyrados :(
0x Lithograph :(

4x Double Colorless Energy

Yuup, that's why I had to disagree with bullados's statement, because there was a set in which we had a better rare card ratio than the current one, even though it did not last very long..lol:thumb:
I just wish I had more money back then, to use Mewtwo EX for the two months that everyone in my area wanted it!!

I think this distribution is also a great move because this set is an excellent time to bring in NEW players.

Cards that are rare enough to be exciting, without being rare enough to be impossible. If Joey Bagadonuts and his 2 best friends start playing, its conceivable they all can obtain their favorite Pokemon Prime pretty easily and start deck building.

First of all why are we calling theese Pokemon Prime? The do not say prime or great anywhere on the card they are just Donphan or Amparos #XXX. They did not take the place of Lvl X's in the HG/SS block. The Legendary Ho-oh and Lugia cards did. The the ratio of Super Rares is unchanged from previous sets. Actually it has dropped a bit as Arceus had 4-6 level X's per box, HG/SS on has 2-4 Legendary halves per box.

Personally over the weekend my family ended up with 4 top havels to Lugia. And one complete Ho-oh and an extra bottom out of three Prelease decks and 3 booster drafts. And we pulled 6 of the Reverse only cards, 2 Meganium, Amparos, Blissey, Donpahn and Feraligator. The odds of puling one of these is the same as pulling the RH of any other card in the deck. No greater and no worse.v It is the same odds of pulling a Rotom card from a few sets back, It was a nice pull but no one compared pulling a Rotom to pulling a Lvl X that set. The chaer cards in this set are not the fancy reverse holo only cards but are infact the Legendary cards that are lets face it unplayable in anything but a fun deck at this time.

Now I am not complaining about this set personnlay I think its fantastic. I love Blissey with the heal pokepower and the Donphan with the nody that blocks 20 dammage and can do 60 for one energy. this set will get considerable play at States and Regionals.

...and that's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it.

:)

With tins coming up with Meganium/Feraligatr/Typhlosion PRIME in them, anyone expecting the value on those cards from the set to be super low?

I'm hoping and praying, Prime. Hoping and praying...

Joey Bagadonuts...I love Moe's burritos. Food time. oh and Primes do seem to be relatively simple to obtain. As lawman said, at our pre-release pretty much every one of the primes(with the exception maybe being donphan, as i never saw it) was pulled. I like the looks of the distribution. Will make it easier for people coming into the game or returning to it late (i.e. me) to get playable cards without having to shell out ridiculous amounts of money. Kudos to HGSS.

Remebber you will be running 2-4 of each prime in a deck, in comparison to 1-2 LvX's, so it makes sense for them to be easier to obtain.

Sad Face on Legends being in different packs. I think that the sets should Mirror Japans Exactly as it makes fairness and rotation easier. Remember they will have Raikou/Entei Legend for worlds, and will pwn our Claydols/Pixies.

Worlds plays with the PCI format, not the Japanese format.

The distribution is awesome. Between my g/f and I and the 16 packs we got from the pre-release and the trading we did we walked away with:

1x Lugia TOP
1x Lugia BOTTOM
1x Ho-Oh TOP
1x Shiney Gyrados
1x Donphan Prime
1x Blissey Prime
1x Feraligatr Prime
1x Typhlosion Prime
1x Ampharos Prime
2x Ninetales
4x Jumpluff
3x Double Colorless
3-4x Each of the good Trainer/Supporters in the set

This is my 3rd Pokemon pre-release since returning to the game and at those I didn't pull a Lv.X or really ever walk away with much to show for the money I spent that day, definitely did not feel that way with this set.

wow, jeeez, thats good, out of sixteen packs, i got something like:
1 donphan
1 ampharos
1 feraligator
1 communicator
2 reversal
2 DCE
1 ninetails.

pretty good, but not as good as lance.

I didn't pull all of that, I traded too. what we pulled was like 3 primes, bottom half lugia and top half ho-oh and a ninetails and a couple double colorles and some good trainers.

Arceus had 3 X in every box that I opened as well as in every box break video I've seen on youtube.

The card list that came in my theme deck says there are no RH energies.

Where'd you find a theme deck, and since when does the deck's list shw rev holos? ._.

P.S. Rev Holo energy are officially reported as non-existent. Wish it wern't true, but w.e.

My PR had a theme deck challenge, and I didn't mean the deck list, I mean the card set list at the back of the rulebook. There's an extra check-box for RH cards if there are any. Sorry for being so confusing ^^;
