Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

St. Louis MO Regionals Nov 12 and 13 in Crestwood MO

Awwwww.... I was hoping for this regional to be in April. Nov 12 is my 20th birthday, and unfortunately, I already have plans.

Just curious. If I've read the information correctly, this year's VGC regional tournaments will be swiss format instead of single elimination. Did I read that correctly? Is that how we'll be doing it in St. Louis?

From the early information I have, it seems that VGC will be swiss and not single elim, but I will await powers greater than even I to confirm the same (or point out where it is already confirmed!).

Any word yet on a Friday schedule? I'd like to get my time off request and a hotel room set pretty soon. Thx!

The Friday Schedule is still being approved and timed out.

We are going to to do a series of "Win a Mat" events - where players can win cool official Pokemon Mats - including the Worlds 2011 Playmat.

We are also doing a massive pre-quel event that will be a Charity Event - Modified Format - where the top prizes will be well worth playing for. It will start at 6:00 pm, as we do not want to run WAY late - all events will be done by 11:00 pm.

We will be doing a TCG Charity Event on Friday, and a VGC Charity event on Saturday evening, to gear people UP for the main events on the next days!

A little behind on formalizing all of this, I was just looking over feedback and the one major improvement I wanted to make is NOT letting the Friday nights event run too long. Ways to fix that, and they will be fixed!

You all will love this weekend - it will be a complete Pokemon Festival!

That is too cool! Please make sure X brings his Nationals Medal! I am sure all of the players would love to see it. I have a case to display it in so it won't get lost.

What an event, that will include 1st and 4th 2011 Juniors, the 3rd, 19th and 32nd place Worlds Juniors...

Not to mention at least 2 top 16 Seniors, and word is the #5 Worlds Master may just appear!!! JWittz FTW!!!

If anyone from The Top Cut will be at the event (read POOKA and Co!), we will fully accomodate any live broadcasts, and will supply whatever support we can give....Pooka PM me for what I am thinking here.

Thanks!

Vince

As far as the Friday schedule, at this point I care more about starting and ending times for the day than I do about the detailed explanations. Like, if this is gonna start at noon, then I see no need to be down there the night before. However, a 9am start means an overnight stay for me. That's more the "schedule" I'm looking for. Thx!

As far as Wittz, I'll see what I can do about dragging him down there...

I turn 40 on Friday, 11/11/11.

I've been thinking about this day for over a decade, wondering where I'll be celebrating.

Turns out, it'll be St. Louis with my family (Zuul & X), and awesome Pokemon friends.

Vince - can you post hotel recommendations? I'd like to make our reservation soon. Thanks!!

The closest hotels to the event are the Holiday Inn - Viking, but just a little ways out highway 44, there is a Drury Inn with free hot breakfast, great rooms and it really is only about 10 minutes from the venue.

(Hwy 44 and 141 is the closest intersection)

Can't wait to get this rocking!

I usually use Priceline when I go down there. There's a small college a little bit West and North of Yeti, and there's a bunch of Extended Stay America and similar hotels around there. I usually get those for $20-25/night for each room. Don't expect Lap of Luxury here. You'll get a clean bed, a bathroom, and a small kitchenette. With the guys I usually take down, we fit 5 of us into 2 rooms with an air mattress. It's probably not the best choice for families, but if you're traveling by yourself or with a bunch of buddies, it'll do the trick. It's about 10-15 minutes away from Yeti, depending on how you're driving.

Hi all

I just wanted to let everyone that I have talked with the Holiday Inn down the road.

We have a block of rooms for $79.00 a night.
Just put in PMN for the Group Code to get the discount.

Can't wait for this great weekend, and to see you all here!

MrsM45 - thanks! We just booked our room and are looking forward to it!!!

Zuul - X's mom, LosJackal's wife, rookie Pokémon player!

I just realized this was in the mall. I was like, how on earth can we fit all the players in some tiny card game shop ?_?

Cora and I will be there Vince! Whether we have the little one with us is currently TBD. Hopefully we can find a sitter for the weekend and will have a couple of players with us. Of course, if that is the case then it means we have to miss out on the Friday events due to not leaving until school is out. Either way we will be there!
