The Imperial Glory orbited the small planet below it, a dead hunk of metal in an empty sky. The planet was getting closer as gravity tugged the ship towards it. With the previous day bringing about the fall of Darth Pikachu, a sense of victory had filled the atmosphere, and many slept soundly that night knowing that survival was in fact possible. Darth Pikachu however was not the only threat. Darth Sideous and Giovanni still roamed free amongst the Rebels, and possible unknown threats lay undiscovered, ready to strike when no one expected it. The recent destruction of the Control Room and Mess had left everyone on edge, making them cautious as to where they chose to conduct their business this night.

The Hanger was mostly quiet that night. After the previous battle with Darth Pikachu, it was even more of mess than before. A Pokémon, blue and red waited in the rafters, on the alert. Below the Pokémon, a man worked tirelessly to repair the airlock shield generator that had been destroyed during the fight with Darth Pikachu. The two never saw each other, being too engrossed in their own respective agendas. When the man finished his maintenance, he stood up and marveled at his success, wiping sweat off his brow. He caught sight of a man sitting on top of some wreckage and debris, however upon a double take, the man was gone.

In the engine room, a man in simple clothes moved with speed and silence. His target was oblivious to his purpose, but not to his presence. The robed figure approached the man and told him something. The man nodded in agreement and accepted something from the man in the robe and the two went their separate ways. A man in a black robe entered the engine room around the same time. He approached a man whom had his back turned to him. The man in the black robe tapped the other man on the shoulder. The man turned about and the man in the black robe began to tell him something, pointing towards the barracks as he spoke. The man laughed and shook his head. Realizing he was being mocked and the seriousness of the situation, the man in the black cloak stepped back and hastily pulled out an unlit Lightsaber hilt. He pointed it at the man he was just talking to and ignited the blade with a snap-hiss. The man smiled, but made no move. The man with the red Lightsaber was getting annoyed. A crash came from the left and the man in the black cloak looked over at the source of the noise. A moment later he found himself being pulled away from the man he was threatening, in the direction of the noise by an unknown force. As he was dragged along the ground by an invisible hand, he saw at the end of his path stood a man in a brown robe, an ignited blue Lightsaber in his hand. The man being dragged turned his body and began to roll with the momentum he already had, he then jumped into the air, breaking the assailant’s grasp. He came down. Lightsaber raised for attack and brought it down on top of the blue blade wielder. The man with the blue blade parried the attack and the man in the black cloak was thrown off, landing on his feet. Their blades each poised in a defensive position, the man in the black cloak spoke.

“Jedi, you would do well to leave me to my business. However if it is a death wish you have, I will be happy to assist you.”

The Jedi with the blue blade smiled and said nothing. Two more snap-hiss’s broke the brief silence, and a topaz and blue blade broke the silence. The man with the red blade turned to see two more Lightsaber armed Jedi encircling him. The dark Jedi in the center snarled in anger.

“You Jedi clearly do not understand who you are dealing with.”

The Sith flipped his Lightsaber in his hand, holding it sideways, the blade pointing to the right. A second blade blossomed from left side, and he spun the doubled bladed saber around his hand, bringing it to his side. He then took his free hand and reached behind his back. When it returned, he was holding another Lightsaber hilt. He ignited the red blade and held all three of his blades in an offensive stance.

The man spoke, “Where Cyrus failed, I shall succeed. I am Darth Giovanni, and you will all die by my hand!”

He jumped toward the nearest Jedi, twisting in mid-air and bringing the single blade down on his target. The Jedi parried the attack, but Giovanni brought his doubled bladed saber over his head to strike the now unguarded Jedi, a second Jedi, this one a female, caught the doubled blade, and hit from the left, forcing Giovanni’s arm off center. Giovanni turned with the motion and tried to strike the first Jedi with a side swipe. The Jedi bent backward, and the blade passed within inches of his face. The third Jedi reached with the Force and grabbed at Giovanni’s legs, pulling them out from beneath him. Giovanni fell to the ground, and rolled to the left just in time to avoid a blue blade disintegrate the floor where his head used to be. He jumped up and landed, as his did he extended both arms and parried three simultaneous attacks from the Jedi. Another red blade lit the darkness and charged the female Jedi. She broke off from Giovanni and blocked the newcomer’s attacker. From the new Sith’s shadow jumped out another black cloaked man. One of the male Jedi engaged this Sith as well. Giovanni took advantage of the confusion to bring all three blades on to his now single opponent. In the midst of the battled a red light flashed and a Dragonite flew overhead, surveying the situation, but staying uninvovled. The Jedi however stood his own, blocking everything Giovanni threw at him. Meanwhile the other two Jedi were holding their ground against the Sith. No one was making any ground against anyone else. Giovanni raised his single saber and deactivated it and his dual bladed staff. He called to his fellow Sith

“It’s a draw, fall back.”

And like that the three Sith disappeared, leaving the three Jedi confused, but content. Their battled fought, the Jedi also made their leave from the engine room.

Meanwhile upstairs in the laboratory, a man sat, his rifle ready, his pistol cocked. He waited and watched, but no one ever came. Despite the quietness of the night, the armed man did notice an abundance of light coming from the opposite side of the room. He eased his way around the tables and desks and came upon at least twenty monitors, all showing different angles of the barracks and all recording live video. The workstation appeared to be deserted and the man rationalized that there was no harm in looking. However, the instant he took a step forward, the entire system cackled with electricity and died, crashing upon the man’s penetration of the proximity field.

Unbeknownst to the armed man, he was about to miss quite a show. A man in a brown robe entered the barracks. His face was covered in a shadow, and his arms tucked into his sleeves. His steps were silent, and his pace fast. The robed man stopped as he came to the first row of beds. He eased his head into the passage-way and saw someone, or something, sitting on a bed, upright and awake, but not moving. A burst of supernatural speed allowed the man to pass the first obstacle unnoticed. As the man in the brown robe continued on his way, he caught sight of someone hiding in shadows, waiting for someone else to come, someone who obviously had not come yet and may not come at all. The man in the robe was not the hidden man’s target, and thus was able to pass without extra effort. As the man in the brown robe came to the next pillar, a flash of red light stopped his advance. He got on his stomach and peered underneath the beds in front of him. He saw a pair of boots, and next them, stood a Lucario. The person next to the Pokémon mumbled something, and then walked away, the Lucario in tow. The man waited until the coast was clear then proceeded to his destination. He made it about ten feet, when a white light erupted out of the ground, surrounded him and formed a dome barrier around him. The robed man folded back his hood and revealed a woman’s face. The woman had flowing red hair, and deep green eyes. She looked around at the barrier that now entrapped her. There wasn’t much she could do and she knew it. Although she had never been behind the barrier before, she was quite familiar with how it worked. She looked around and saw no way out. A green and blue figure flashed past her, on what appeared to be a jetpack, but whoever or whatever it was, it paid no mind to her. Now finding herself with a lot more free time, she dropped to her knees, closed her eyes and began to meditate. She began to contemplate recent events, and possible solutions. Her thoughts however were interrupted by a haunting laugh, a laugh familiar to all.

“Heh heh heh heh” cackled Emperor Palpatine

Several Imperials marched forward and formed two ranks. Palpatine walked down the center. He came to a stop a few feet away from the barrier. He looked directly at the woman inside the barrier.

“Mara Jade,” he addressed the woman with a smile that looked more insane than happy, “it has been far too long.”

The woman in the barrier regarded the Sith Lord before her, “Go away old man; there’s nothing for you here.” She gestured at the barrier that surrounded her. “You wouldn’t want to end up like Darth Pikachu, now would you?

Anger swelled in Palpatine’s voice, “Darth Pikachu was a fool! A pathetic excuse of a Pokémon and a weak version of his former self! He was destined to fall to further my plans! You would do well to learn your place girl!” The Emperor let out a deep breath, and calmed his voice, “It matters little at this point however. You are about to become one with the Force, just like Kezzup, Luke Skywalker, that fool didn’t even live long enough to remember who he was!”

A flash of emotion crossed Mara’s face, but was quickly stilled, she spoke with calmness. “The Dark Side has clouded your judgment, old man. You are familiar with this barrier; it cannot be penetrated by the likes of you.”

The Emperor laughed again as the same time putting his hand up his sleeve. “You are very wrong, about a great, many things child.” When his hand came back out of his sleeve, he was holding a silver and gold cylinder. With a flick of his finger, a red blade shot to life with a snap-hiss.

Palpatine proceeded to walk closer to the barrier. He casually swung his blade at the barrier. The barrier repulsed his blade and showed no damage. Mara sat inside and wore a cocky smile on her face.

“This barrier protects everything it encompasses; it is an ability of great skill.”

He stopped, loosened his grip on his Lightsaber and let it flip upside down in his hand before tightening his grip again, the blade now facing the floor.

“This barrier will be your undoing!”

Emperor Palpatine plunged his Lightsaber into the floor directly where the barrier stopped covering. He proceeded to start walking around the barrier, cutting a hole in the floor around the barrier as he stepped. Mara Jade knew her time was running short. In a few moments, the Emperor would finish cutting and the floor would collapse beneath her. The barrier conveniently kept her trapped with no hope of escape. She had no escape route, her fate was sealed.

The Emperor was almost three-fourths of the way finished. As he rounded the final quarter, a woman yelled in startled surprise and a few moments later the barrier flickered and fell. Mara saw her chance and did a forward front flip, attempting to bring her foot down on Palpatine. The Sith Lord saw it coming however and with a burst of speed moved out of the way. Mara Jade landed, and pulled out her Lightsaber. A moment later her topaz blade pierced the darkness. Before she even had time to make a witty remark, a yellow bolt of electricity lit up the shadows and hit her square in the back. Mara screamed in agony and fell to the ground, dropping her Lightsaber as the electricity shot through her. She opened her eyes, and standing over her smoking body, was the Sith Master, Palpatine, whose eager face, and twisted smile were lit only by the red light of his Lightsaber. Mara reached for her Lightsaber and found nothing there. The Emperor held it in his hands.

He fiddled with it in his free hand, “Very well crafted, young Jedi, if not crudely so.”

Several small bolts of blue electricity shot up his open palm where the Lightsaber rested. The metal cylinder absorbed the electricity and promptly cackled and shorted out, its circuitry fried.

Palpatine tilted his head in mock sympathy, “and now Jedi…you will die…”

He raised his Lightsaber and brought it down upon the Jedi. A split second before the blade made contact, Mara concentrated and drew into the Force. She flicked the blade’s switch off, and the Emperor swung a deactivated blade at her. Confused and distracted, the Emperor didn’t have time to react before the Jedi spun on her back and kicked out Palpatine’s legs. The Emperor toppled over and Mara spun her legs around and used her arms to throw herself upright, as she did, she reached out with the Force and pulled the Emperor towards her, while at the same time charging a Force enhanced punch with her other arm. Palpatine was pulled up and made directed contact with her fist. He was sent flying in the opposite direction. The airborne Emperor screamed in pain. A burst of speed allowed Mara to run past the in flight Sith Lord and get behind him. The Jedi extended her leg out straight and held firm as the Emperor’s spine collided with her boot. Palpatine fell to the ground on his hands and knees, hissing in pain. He turned to his attacker,

“I will kill you, Jedi scum.” he hissed through his teeth. He turned back and raised one arm off the ground and a stream of blue lighting shot from his hands,

Mara reached out with the Force and pulled the Emperor’s discarded Lightsaber to her. She ignited it, and blocked the Force Lighting attack with the Sith Lord’s own red blade. The Emperor turned to his minions who had been looking on.

“Kill her, kill her!” he wheezed

The imperial raised their blasters and opened fired. Mara deflected the initial barrage and then raised a cupped hand upward. The first imperial flew upwards and hit the ceiling. A blaster bolt caught her other hand and she dropped the Lightsaber in surprised pain. She ran at the shooter and grabbed his rifle. Using the Force to enhance her grip, she squeezed and the barrel crushed in her hand. She ripped the damaged blaster from the imperial and spun around smacking him in the head with it, causing him to spin over and fall to the ground. Finally she turned around and let loose a telekinetic blast that threw the remaining imperials off their feet. However, too late, she realized the Emperor was gone. She frantically looked for him, and suddenly felt her entire body freeze. The Emperor laughed, as she found her self raised off the ground, Palpatine standing below her, arm outstretch.

“You have underestimated the dark side, Jedi,” the Sith announced, “and now you will suffer the consequence for your incompetence.”

He clenched his fist, and Mara felt every bone in her body strain. Pain shot throughout her very being as hundreds of cracks and fractures erupted on every major bone. She Emperor laughed as he strained her more and more, finally throwing her against the wall in a crumpled mess. Mara breathed heavy. Every bone in her body was broken, she could not move, and was in incredible pain. The Emperor approached her. The last image she saw was the Sith Lord placing his hand on her head. She sensed a sharp increase in the Force, then blackness, as the Emperor shot lighting directly into her skull, killing her instantly.

Benson was dead.

Several onlookers watched the spectacle happen, amazed and shocked by what they saw. One such watcher cursed the Emperor for not choosing him as his target. The Empire recovered themselves and made their leave.

In the morning, everyone gathered in the hanger to see what fate had befallen them the previous night. They saw the body of Benson slain in the barracks. He was Mara Jade.

Finally, a part of the floor had opened up, and a small stand had risen, a big red blinking button in its place. ANYONE may post saying they would like to press the button. I wonder what will happen?

The Empire was out there. The Sith were out there. The town was far from out of the woods. Darth Pikachu’s death was a victory, but the war had only just begun….

PLAYERS REMAINING: 20
VOTES TO LYNCH: 11
Day 7 ends: 12-29-11

Also my internet connection may be limited for the next 5 days or so. Thus vote counts may be scattered, and any PMs I receive may not be answered until the next morning, If the vote count is reached, I ask someone to step up and freeze the game for me. That being said, I will monitor the game on my dad’s cell-phone when possible, and may be able to post regular post-counts from it, I have yet to see.

As before EVERYONE must post at least once, or face consequences. As the game gets smaller, people staying active is more important.

Thank you again for your patience.
Good Luck
