Yay! We get a lugia! Hopefully we get more sp Pokemon so we can show the EX's what's up. thought (sp have regular hp= beast attacks!)
Edit: on the booster pack in the background there is a sort of cruise ship... SS unova?

Or the SS Libra from Pokemon XD, which is probably more homage with the name (Gale of Darkness?)

Your edit makes me think there will be a new movie soon later this year or early next year.
 
I'm calling it now.

The Lugia you see will be Plasma's Lugia, or something like that.

One of its attacks will be called Plasma Gale.
 
I hope they make a Team Plasma's Hydreigon to reference Ghetsis.

I would love this set if it was a reference to that because Gale of Darkness is probably my favorite game tied with Emerald and HG/SS.
 
My guess is that we will have a Lugia EX (Lugia on cover"), a Shadow Lugia EX ("Gale"), SP Pokemon ("Plasma"), and Shadow Pokemon ("Gale"). This means that there just might be a sequel to Pokemon XD announced in this set.

Probably a reference to the new ship Team Plasma has in the new games.

I'm interested to see what we'll get this time. First was Dark Pokemon, then team Pokemon with dual typing, then SPs. Makes me excited to see what we'll be getting.

A gale is just a strong gust of wind. It has no correlation to shadows or darkness or anything else that would otherwise indicate the introduction of shadow Pokemon or a Shadow Lugia into the TCG

Ignoring the naming concerns (which don't really worry me), will we have adequate representation of the numerous varied Pokemon in "plain" form by then? If not, I'd rather they not get into Pokemon with Owners (and certainly not Pokemon SP) yet.

If they do go with "Plasma's Pokemon", I am really hoping they realize my dream of a "Turf War" block that has Rockets and Magmas and Aquas and Galactics and if we have room some of the more obscure teams.

If anything, it will be Old Plasma vs Neo Plasma. They are kinda having a turf war. Would like to see them balance the next "owner's" block a bit better than SPs, whether this is it.
 
I've only been playing a few months so would someone please explain to me what "Owner's" and "SP" Pokemon are?

They all have a user's portrait or team symbol on the card with the Pokemon.

Look in the Gallery under the sets Platinum, Team Aqua & Team Magma, and Gym Heroes for examples.
