Value of an uncut holo fossil sheet

Myself, Pokepop and everyone else has been open to everything yet this person has yet to make their presence known espeically not even in front of pokepop.

If anyone has a reason to hide from pokepop I worry about this persons authenticty
After all pokepop don't even know who this is.

I'd rather get authenticity with Rusty's contact.

Ok so first step is trying to get rustys person for authenticity?
Then what happens after that? if it is legit or if it is not?

What if he is legit but wrong on the test sheets? Then we have a stalemate right?

What if he is legit but says the test sheet is not legit but DMTM says yes it is? then what?


Still pokepop we have other matters we need to discuss

They dont know Pokepop, you , or probably anyone on this forum... I took questions to the person not the other way around. While I would love for the production manager to "make an appearance" they have nothing to prove to us.

I am grateful that my questions are answered. Questions for others members on here have been answered as well.

Anybody remember when KB Toys ran the campaign to give a sheet away at each of their locations? I'm not sure if this was the main reason so many Fossil sheets were distributed to the public but it would make sense. I thought Becket also held a drawing for one in one of their magazine issues. Either way there are quite a few out there. I think these campaigns are the main reason anybody knows about uncut sheets. It makes me wonder how many people search for them daily on ebay and if that could be why the price is so high at the moment.

I have seen the number 3000 thrown around a bunch when it comes to estimating how many were made. Since most were given to kids, finding one is NM condition or better would be quite a challenge.

The following is not necessarily only answering raichu, but rather geared towards general information. Please note I do not deem myself an 'expert', just a collector who has seen these sheets over the years, but never bothered to buy one for myself. The main reason the prices are so high is as follows:

- These sheets are almost 13 years old, everything increases in value with age, this is no different.
- Since they are so old, most collectors have already found their own, and therefore have taken that particular sheet off the market. Once this is repeated enough times, supply drops. This in turn raises the price, simple economics of supply and demand.
- This item is much different than most other Pokemon memorabilia. Thus it piques the interest of many collectors, especially to those looking for 'nostalgic' things from back in the 'glory days' of Pokemon. Plus they make a great centerpiece to hang on a wall or put on a shelf.

One last thing, that I think many here on the 'Gym should understand. Value is not, nor should it ever be, determined based on personal opinion, sentimental value, or anything of that nature. Value should be determined on MARKET prices only, nothing more, nothing less. Just because I say a certain item is worth $1, it means nothing if said item sells for $50+. You would be a fool to sell anything for a $1 if they are currently/have been selling for $50+.

This also works at the other extreme. If I have an item that I believe to be worth in excess of $100, but sells on the regular for less than $30; who in their right mind would pay the $100? Nobody, it's as simple as that.

One thing that everyone dealing in Pokemon needs to understand, whether it be buying/selling/trading, is that opinions on prices mean nothing, and I repeat nothing. What a card/item ACTUALLY sells for should always be used as opposed to what it could POSSIBLY sell for.



That's just my two cents :thumb: For those of you feeling in the tl;dr mood, I basically just said prices should be based off actual market value, not theoretical value.

I gave my 2 cents on my first post then rusty took it from there and this is how we got to where were at.

My two cents

Crazy...send me a picture of one of your test sheets (front, back and a close up of the lower right front) and ill compare it to mine which I know is legit. Don't publish the results though cause I keep such things private.

Plus, ill be listing a different test sheet next week you've never seen before and I'm asking in advance don't email and bug me about it. I would only trade if you offered a bunch of sheets for it. It is super cool as you'll see;)
