I'm working on a deck with electrode too, I will most likely play it with a deck that can take good advantage of scramble so Electrode's only weakness can start to be your strength.

One really interesting combo with Feraligatr in my opinion would the be the holon phantoms Aerodactyl which makes you take a basic energy out of your deck and put it into your hand.
