Other than repeating that you need to use a GB-Color link lead for Crystal/Blue, and a GB-Advance cable for R/S, I can only suggest trying the trade using someone elses GBA - is it possible that the link port on one of the units is damaged in some way?

There's no level cut off. Vitamins provide 10 EV points in a particular stat, but can only provide the first 100 EV points in a given stat. In total a stat can have up to 255 EV points, and the sum of all your stats' EVs can only be 510. At level 65, you almost certainly have at least 100 in...
