I'm not sure if submitting my list so early is a good idea, but I'd rather not spend much more time on it, so I submitted it. Provided I didn't misread a card again, I feel pretty confident, though.

In terms of fully evolved Pokemon, there hasn't been a Cloyster since SW.

I would be curious to see what else would change in the format, assuming the Breeder print, of course. Specifically, I wonder if such a card would have players run Dual Ball in favor of Collector, to attempt to get a T1 Dual Ball+Breeder combo.

That's a good point. Still, I'd rather they attack with Emboar than with anything else IMO, since they lose energy acceleration should it get KO'd. They could have 2 Emboar out, but...2 Emboars out probably means that Steelix loses regardless, so, yeah. :)

...Excuse me? 1. I see it specified nowhere that the card had to be good in Unlimited. The only restriction I see is that it has to be unlikely to be reprinted, and I doubt we'll see Gardevoir's Power and attack printed on the same card ever again. 2. Just a cursory glance through the thread...

All this looks well and good, however... What more exactly does Gardevoir SW have to do to justify its inclusion on a top 9 list of any cards period, much less a list of top 9 cards that will never be printed again? Does Gardevoir need to break another format? Yeah, there's Grumpig, but...

Steelix is definitely solid...when people aren't playing massive Fire-types and Magnezone. I think that Steelix could benefit from a solid Zoroark line plus Pluspowers, to counter Reshiram/Magnezone at least. If nothing else, Steelix can wait for Pokemon Catcher to be released, and then it can...

I got donked once vs Sableye in the final round. I was playing Steelix and had a lone Onix start. I also donked someone myself, but it was a lone Magikarp start, so the only thing out of the ordinary was that I managed the donk before he got a turn.

Well, yes, but keep in mind, the odds of an opponent having both a Collector and the Sableye to start first are only slightly better than having double Tomb. That said, Nance's criticism is legit, IMO. I keep forgetting about the mulligan rule, sadly.:nonono:

The problem with Emboar/Shuckle as a draw engine is, if you're running Fire energy for a draw engine anyway, why not just use Ninetales? Yeah, it's a Stage 1 as opposed to a basic, but it only takes 1 energy per turn, and doesn't involve attaching multiple energies to something that will never...
