Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

$1 rare cards?

Exactly! There's always opportunities to make money if you keep your eyes open. Like this week I bought a yon of genesect boxes at $15 each and then resold just the 6 best trainers for more than the price I paid for the box, and haven't even tried selling the other like 54 cards and 2 booster packs. 3 years ago I saw a guy selling bulk toxicroak g's for $5 each and then I resold them for like $15-20 each. Like I said, you keep your eyes open and take advantage of opportunities as they appear.

Ok well as far as getting more subscribers I'm working on that already.
I plan to pre record videos months in advance and then upload alot of them all at once.

I'm trying to establish a youtube channel that both does things no one has done before as well as do some things the same only better.

Thanks for the help.

I think everything has been done before unless you start burning one of your sheets... then that's never been done before.

Funny elam

how about I buy a bunch of trophy cards and burn them. That has not been done before either.
That will get alot of views destroying cards that could be worth a mortgage.

But I actually have dozens of ideas in mind that will bring alot of people over both new ideas and revamped ideas.

Getting the audience in maximum numbers is not what I'm worried about.
That's easy...or at least it feels easy to me.

That's kinda why I feel like selling on youtube will help because of the subscribers.
That's why I'm trying to figure out what kinds of items I can buy for pennies and sell for $1 each.
That's the kind of world we live in now a days.
each item is a dollar, bulk/lots is pennies.

I been noticing people like getting toys from china, not sure if I should pay any attention to that.

I also have a bunch of 1st ed chinese & korean Base cards although I'm not exactly sure how the best way to go about getting rid of them.

Oh and soleofsnipe I don't make these threads because I like to ask a bunch of random questions.
I like to hear myself think outloud and get feeback. Thats' why gym is here. If I had to research everything before asking a question just to get a 1 direct answer then I could keep using google thus making pokegym irrelevant.
Theres a reason we all come here to gym. Because in all honesty we all could be on google, get our answers and not socialize.

You could have been a lil nicer and taken a easier approach then what you have done.
But no worries.

Thanks for everyones input.

If you want a strong Youtuber base you're going to have to be active and interact with your viewers and build relationships that way. Pre-recordings can be risky as you have no way of improving your video if you get some sort of feedback. Your whole money lottery idea will not work at all. Those types of things are controversial already when people ask for "fcbm slots" for raffles. You're just asking for trouble when you do that. Plus you gotta have a clean track record. I remember you had that one raffle once which went on for over a year and no winner was announced and then now suddenly I can't seem to find it on your channel. Sounds like one of those cheap methods of getting subscribers while tricking them. You gotta avoid doing that stuff if you want people to respect you there.

But as previously mentioned already, Youtube is the wrong place to sell for profit big time if you're just dealing with non holo rares or small thins like that. It's more of a trading/giving away free stuff environment.

Generally speaking, the only valuable "toys" from china are actually merch sold in the pokemon centers that is made in China.
IE) Takara Tomy Figures -> If you have say an Electrode or Voltorb they sell upwards from $50+

My advice:

1. There is no get rich quick way. You need to invest, trying to "outsmart" people buy "buying bulk" will not work. If everyone did that and bought 1000 cards for like $10 and sold them for $1 each, ebay would just be full of garbage. It would be a waste of time + money doing that.

2. Stay AWAY from youtube. I cannot stress this enough! People like JWittz and PrimeTimePokemon already have a HUGE sub base. If there is even a hint of a raffle, instantly their videos have TONS of views. If someone smaller has a raffle ex: You. You have 135 subscribers and you haven't made videos in 2 years, I'm sure a lot of them are out of their pokemon phase.

3. You need to learn the ups and downs of pokemon. It is like Civarc said, a stock market. I selling a ton of Yanmega Prime for $5 a piece, and the next week that buyer resold for $45 each because I didn't realize that they were going to be playable.

4. You want to build a relationship with other community members and communities. I belong to 3 wholeheartedly, and another handful casually. I recall you joining another community I'm a part of, and then you were blatantly trying to get the bare minimum for selling permission (by repeatedly posting). Relax and stay awhile, you'll see as you make friends you will be able to have more connections.

5. Sell anything playable you think will be collectible in the future. It probably won't, as soon as rotation comes in a year, they will be worth a lot less. IE I recall you asking about Regigigas EX FA and Mewtwo EX FA. You missed prime time to sell them... They are slowly on the decline.

I'm sorry if I sound rude in any way, I'm just trying to help you and be realistic.
I wish you luck "expanding your collection" but personally, since I haven't seen anything from your collection, why would I help? I'm sure many people are the same way. We've heard "My collection is HUGE" and then never have seen a small snippet of it.

Maybe you missed it but I had my collection on flickr that I shared here on gym before.
But a few months ago i decided to take it down because I planned on making higher quality pictures.

Anyone who has been close to me has seen my collection.
I have provided proof of it.

But in doing so I kept getting bothered to sell my collection to certain people so now I decided to make my collection private.

I actually plan on being successful with youtube without needing to use my collection as an advantage.

One day in the future I'll show my collection but it will be everything into 1 video.

It will be boring if I showed off 1 sheet every time I got new ones.

Alright well thanks for everything
i'll take it from here.
