So,
I decide to stick with the same list for the 3 straight tournament even though the last two ended with me going a combined 5-4. I decided it was due to some horrible bad luck and that I would give the deck one final shot in my last BR that I could attend due to having the Jets/Bengals game on Sunday to go to.
I played Kingdra.
R1 - Money S. (Magmortar/Togekiss/Rayquaza)
I go second and get a T1 Kingdra. He has trouble dealing with it and I run thru his water weak pokemon.
Win (1-0)
R2 - ?????? (Venusaur/Torterra)
I get an awful start and he gets up a T3 Venusaur. He is special conditioning me and then heal his Venusaur for 40 damage each turn. It doesn't help that 2 Kingdra are prized. It takes a few of my pokemon to finally take it down. Once I do I start getting setup and I eventually win the game.
Win (2-0)
R3 - Ken (Dragonite/Kingdra)
I am playing down to a 1-1, he goes first and I T1 his Dratini to bench him.
Win (3-0)
R4 - Scott B. (Gligar/Weezing)
I am playing down again for the second straight round. I get T2 Kingdra ashe goes first. He can't find an evolution and I end up winning the game by taking all 6 of my prizes before he can get an evolution.
Win (4-0)
R5 - Eric (Houndoom/Infernape/Moltres)
I go 1st and end up getting a T2 Kingdra and his fire pokemon are just easy KO's for my big water horse. I proceed to ko all of his pokemon winning easily.
Win (5-0)
R6 - ?????? (Empoleon)
I am playing down for the third time in the tournament. I get a T2 Kingdra as I go 1st again. He has issues getting setup and by that time I have spread damage and taken a few prizes. He manages to hit me a few times with Surf Together and get a few prizes, but I win by taking my 6th prize.
Win (6-0)
I am #1 seed going in and I am playing against a 4-2.
T4 - Micheal (Torterra/Sceptile/Exeggutor)
G1 - I go 2nd and get a T1 Kingdra up. I start spreading on his pokemon and taking prizes. He has one turn where he gets up the Lv. X and Ko's himself and two of my Kingdra in one turn. I play smartly using my PlusPowers to setup his 90 Eggs which I hit for 20 each to set them up for the PlusPower plus Dragon Pump for the KO.
G2 - A lot like G1 but he goes more agrro Torterra, but my spread is just too much for him to handle.
In both games I have key warp points that help me take a few crucial prizes.
Win (7-0/8-0)
T2 - Eric (Houndoom/Infernape/Moltres)
G1 - I get a GREAT start and get a T1 Kingdra. He keeps it competitive but the fact is my 130HP water pokemon that can pretty much KO anything in his deck hurts him. I ko 2 Stantler on my last turn to win G1.
G2 - I finally get an Unown Q start. and my opponent gets an Azelf start. I know he plays 1 psyhic but he doesn't start with it. I whiff on anything useful in my opponent hand and he T2's me with Infernape. If I had 1 more PlusPower in my hand I would of been able to hit him on T1 with Unown for 70 with weakness and the 3 PlusPower (I had 2 in my hand) doing the rest.
G3- I get an awful start. Unown Q again, and I have to opt to go first so I can play down Uxie. I then proceed to complete screw up and use Seadra to ko his active Stantler. He proceeds to KO me with Infernape. I play a WP and get his Stantler active. He leads and I luckily top deck a Rosey. Once I do that I make a comeback because me draw engine starts working. He sees that I am making a comeback and when he realizes he can't stop me he pretty much let's me bench him to win.
Win (8-0/10-1)
I am very happy as I had NEVER won 8 games (that count towards rating) in a tournament before. I had won 7 multiple times but never 8 which was one of my goals this year, however I didn't think I would do it at a Battle Roads.
