2 questions

1. when i attach defender, lets say, to zekrom and then i choose bolt strike, zekrom will do only 20 damage to itself, but on my opponents turn, when he attacks zekrom, will his damage be reduced by 20?
what i mean is if defender reduce 20 damage 2 times? (own damage and then opponents damage).

2. Is great ball legal to be play? since it has new text but the new great ball isnt out yet?

1. Defender isn't counting how many times it blocks damage.
It blocks damage from attacks from the moment it is attached until the end of your opponent's next turn. So it would block damage from both of those attacks.

2. Yes. It has had an errata issued, just like Rare Candy. That is also legal to play but must use the new text that was released with Black & White. This is in the current, MD-on format, of course. Great Ball would not be legal in a HS-on format unless it was released in a new set.
