THis card is a beast so much extra draw power is too good to pass up makes absol easier to deal with also I have already drawn into 1-1 tech lines and one card tech so much more often in so many games other than a sucky attack and 2 retreat I give it an 8/10

this card has had such a amazing play for the game and its consistancy I would try to play at least a 1-1 line in every deck easy a 9/10

This is one of the BEST techs in the format. Let's see, replenishes you hand every turn and gets rid of junk. This is really awesome. Almost every good deck out there right now should be running at least a 1-1 or 2-2. Defiantly 10/10.

Good for Feraligatr If you're low on energy. Good replacement for Delcatty, This card can be very good if you use It correctly.

10/10

9/10

Why? mediocre attack and 2 Retreat, but other than that, this card should be played in almost every deck

Well, it's probably the bigest Pokemon engine we have had since FR/LG. It's overated and shut down easily, but it is good. It goes well with TGW and Rowan.
9/10

The premeir draw source of this format, Claydol is used in nearly every deck out there. Stat-wise, Claydol is solid, with 80 HP, a +20 Weakness to Grass (could hurt with Leafeon Lv X threatening to be big when it is released, but Claydol is meant to stay on the bench), no Resistance, and needing 2 Energy for a Retreat Cost. Claydol's only attack, Spinning Attack, does a solid 40 damage for 1 Fighting and 1 Colorless Energy.

Claydol's Poke-Power, Cosmic Draw, is the sole reason you will usually run a 2-2 line; it allows you to put up to 2 cards in your hand to the bottom of your deck to then draw until you have 6 cards in your hand. This is great in being able to continually refresh your hand and ensure you have the best options available. Claydol is also notorious for killing Absol starts, as the lost cards matter little if you can maintain hand presence, and also helps to counteract the otherwise potentially negative effects of Team Galactic's Wager.

Modified - 10/10 (If you're not using at least a 2-2 line in your deck, you better have a good reason as to why)
Limited - 10/10 (If you can get him out, he's great in helping you shift through your deck faster to get to your key cards)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Not really worth using since there are so many other great draw options here)

This card is used in just about evry deck out there not because of it's attack or it's HP. It's poke-power is what this card is all about. Letting you refresh your hand every turn. Having 80 hp make is snipe bate for cards like empolion lv x....magmoartar...even from the new blaziken. It's attack is bad and should only be used as a last means of an attack. Two retreat cost is not good at all for Claydol. Weaknes to leaf should not be that bad since this pokemon should never be up to attck in the first place. Since it's abliaty is a power it is easly shut off by cc, gardevoir psylock. With some of the newer cards comming out it will see more threats like galceon and aerodactyl.
Because of evertyhing I will give it a 8/10 since even though it's snip bate and can easly be shut off, when it works it really helps get though your deck to get the cards you need.

10/10

Possibly the best supporting card in format right now.

WAH I just lost Wager NO MORE! Here's a new hand*, little feller.
(*not available where PLOX is located)

The recycling engine in any deck. He can seriously work in about 98% of decks. i can't believe they haven't made a card like him yet.

10/10.

One of the best techs and support pokemon that we have out there. It is very good. It also mkes Steven's Advice much better, and with TGW, you can't lose. It is pretty amazing to have nothing one turn, and the next turn top-deck a claydol, shuffle your hand and get a brand new one EVERY TURN. Oh yeah, and it's stackable...
9.9/10

Claydol’s power is AMAZING ... but the format his hard on him.

Gardevoir shuts him down. Blaziken snipes him. Dusknoir crowds him. Cess makes him cry. He’s not very happy about the new Glaceon level X or Aerodactyl cards coming out either.

One of the problems I see with Claydol in many decks is that he is usually run in a 2-2 line ... so the person running him usually has to either burn two cards (Great Ball/Roseannes/etc. + Celio’s/Bebe’s/etc.) or an attack (Patchi/Phoine) and one of those other cards to get him. So it’s fairly resource intensive to get him out most games and then he gets countered. Especially if it’s something like a Magmortar snipe that can put the deck running Claydol behind since they’ve essentially wasted all those early game resources.

The other problem with Claydol is that too many folks don’t run draw with him. That’s great if you play a deck that doesn’t counter Cosmic Power in some way ... but I’ve seen a lot of games where the Claydol player ends up with basically no hand at some point because they were counting on getting him out and using Cosmic Power & don't really have many or any other ways of getting draw..

Overall I would give this card a 7/10. It deserves major props for making Absol less effective ... but it’s just not as amazing as it could be given the format. If he had 90 HP to avoid the easy OHKO from Blaze I would probably give him 8.5/10 … but he is what he is.
