Which is better and why? In What combination would you use either?

I would have to say that the #7 is much better, it may have a higher retreat cost, but with other eveelutions to give it free retreat, it really isn't that big of a deal. The attacks of the #7 leafeon are much better.

The other leafeon is not nearly as good, but could still be used as an alternative to getting the level X out. If able, I would only use the #7 and not the #24.

Rating:

Leafeon #7 - 9/10 for being the best choice for the Lv. X and a decent card on its own.

Leafeon #24 6/10 not the best card on its own, but can still be used to get out the Lv. X

#7 is so much better. Being able to stop retreating can be very good and also with water resitence and leaf guard it is very hard to kill this thing if your a water type.

9/10

2 for 40 could be better. good and being able to remove 1 damage counter doesn't make it much better. Also a 50% chance of the second attack doing 70 not 50 I would rather just average out and do 60 with -20 resistence to everything.
6.5/10

#7 is so much better, using the second attack makes it resist Empoleon by 40. Like a mini meganium Delta Reduction. #24 is not good enough to be used in Eevelutions effectively.

#7 - 9/10
#24 - 6.5/10

. . . which card is better? That's like asking me to choose between Family Guy and Hannah Montana in a "which one of these does NOT make me want a lobotomy" contest: the choice is pretty freaking obvious.

#24 has some advatages, the possible extra 10 occasionally comes in handy, the damage removal and 2 for 40 can help aswell, but overall, Trapping and reduction, even with the extra retreat cost makes #7 better.

Plus, it's #7 7!

7: harder to get since the other one comes in a theme deck the -20 event is amazing.
24: seriously not as good, and you have to flip

7 has better art.

I like number 24 better. You are usually going to use the lx's attack to hit hard anyway, so leafeon is only used for a quick attack before you are able to level up. By that point you will probably have 2 energy on leafeon (3 is not likely if you just got leafeon out) and number 24 can do the most damage with that 2 energy attack. I also like how it helps keep your hp up. Not much, but it still helps. Leafeon lx will be hard to bring down if dawn stadium is in play or if you have shaymin lx out, and leafeon 24 goes along with the healing theme.

I don't like 7 because of the awful retreat. The first attack is nice if you start with it against phione or the electric squirrel, but otherwise it doesn't do much. The 2nd attack is good but pricey, even with the damage prevention.

So, if your goal is to use pokemon that get energy onto the bench and then use leafeon lx to do big damage, 24 is the way to go. 24 has a 2 energy attack that is decent, and a retreat cost that won't hurt you later on. If you plan to attack with leafeon more than you do with the lx, however, 7 has a solid attack that does decent damage, however slow it may be. Most people don't really do this, so 24 wins in the end.

7: 6.5/10
24: 7/10

Leafeon #7 is better. Why? Cooler art, Better attacks, and it has 2 retreat and the other has 1 but still, 7 is better since it can stop retreating which messes me up sometimes when i play aginst my friend. Workds better with lvl.x since it can defend and this applies for both, resistance to kindra, empoleon, glaceon etc.
#7~7/10
#24~5.5/10

I know im probably the only person who does this, as an avid pokemon RPG video game player,
but I like to judge cards by level.

I know this is overlooking the card itself, but the higher level genrally tends to be better IMO.

In this case, it's very debatable.

24 IMO is worse than 7. Why? Simple: Healing 10 won't keep your HP up high as if you use Leaf

Guard it would. All energy attatched have a purpose upon leveling up, due to Verdant Dance.

So in the long run, 24 would heal 20 in one turn, and 7 would heal 30(assuming you don't get
KO'ed after using Leaf Guard.)

7 is faster due to the lower energy cost. Think of this:
Me said:
Opponent attatches to start game. Does 10 damage. I go. Candy into 7, attatch 1 :graas:,
do 30. Now my opponent is possibly locked into their starter like chatot, can't free retreat into their setup,
and Level Up next turn, killing the starter, reduce by 20(Use E-Forcing during turn) and getting ahead
on prizes.

24 is just meh IMO.

7: 7.5/10
24: 4.5/10

Typhlosion King just dosen't know the definition of Umbreon MD and eeveelutions.

Both are very viable Pokemon.

Comparing first attacks:

#7 let's me go into action with just one energy, making it very efficient. This has been very helpful on turn two locking up an opponent's basic Pokemon that is more of a utility Pokemon than a building Pokemon... like a Baltoy or Rotom... you just have to play the basic you are dealt sometimes.

#24 2 energies to do 40 damage and remove a damage counter is good. I just don't feel it is as effective as Bind Down.

Attack #2

Leaf Guard #7 does 60 and provides some protection. Definitely more defensive and against the a water deck this can really buy a lot of time.

Leaf Blade #24 does 50 damage and a 50% change of doing 20 more. I like the reliable 60 + defense.

Jumping to LV. X means I will most likely use Verdant Dance to go for a knockout or if 60 is enough for the knockout I'll use Leaf Guard gaining the additional defense.

The only advantage I see with #24 is the lower retreat cost. However, Umbreon, which I run, neutralizes this advantage.

I rate #7 85%/100
I rate #24 75%/100

There is no question that #7 is better.

Bind Down is good until you get Leaf Guard swinging. Leaf Blade may have the 50% possibility of doing an additional 10 damage, but I would rather be reducing damage by 20 any day.
