first :)

this card is the luxray lawlz....
basically, if your NOT playing against luxray, and you end up using him, you hit for 60, then you give your opponent a free prize.
5/10
worthless compared to promo croak imo

If you're playing Primeape, you've got 2 choice - this Mankey or the GE Mankey.

I like this one.

8/10 if you're playing Primeape.

Think people!!!!

If you are playing any kind of spread deck (Palklox) this card is the BCID (Bet card in deck).
The amount of spread you can pull off followed by a mountain of Mankey can really hurt! Who cares for Primeape?

Epic card. Don't tell me it's a free prize for my opponent - after all, 60 damage is enough to soften up nearly all Pokemon for a KO from yor next attacker.

Also, I love this card because it won me BRs =]

8/10

Relicanth is sooooo much better in every way, it snipes, has a second attack, kills things other than just luxray, and dont forget the HP is way better. It can be played around unless you draw into it + fighting energy somehow.
Still a good basic though, and absol usually has no way around it so... free prizes are a bad idea vs most sp decks. But it will be great againt luxray techs in things like raybees 7/10

Yep, it gets the OHKO on Luxray GL LV X and Absol G LV X.

Yep, it is the 567th reason why Electivire FB is bad.

Yep, it's faster than Promocroak in non-SP decks, and doesn't depend on your opponent having Tools attached like Relicanth does.

But it's still probably a bit over-rated. Decks like Gyarados should be able to OHKO Luxray anyway and do it without giving away a free prize.

You certainly can't just throw one of these in your deck and think 'woo hoo, I've countered Luxray!'

6/10

6/10[/QUOTE]

this is true because many luxray players are throwing in sunnyshore to counter monkey and the frog cause both are dangerous.

10/10 For being so OP against Luxray X.

But in reality, Relicanth is a better coutner to it.

This card looks really good against Lv.X's that have fight weakness. Against non-Lv.X's, not a good card. Though, I would say if you're playing Primeape, play this card.

5/10

Good against Pokemon that have it's weakness, and that are Lv. Xs but mostly just a weak card. However one energy for a potential 60 is awesome! I have to say I haven't played it and maybe would appreciate it more. 5/10

Today's CotD is Mankey from SV, the much-hyped about tech Lv X killer. Statwise, 50 HP is 10 below the common 60, +10 Weakness isn't too crippling, no Resistance is common, and :colorless to Retreat is cheap. Extra Punch of course is its Lv X killing attack; for :fighting:, you deal an initial 10, and if the Defending is a Lv X obviously, 50 more. Now, while this won't kill your "tougher" Lv Xs (ie, non-SP), with Lake Boundary or Lucario GL in play, Extra Punch has more than enough power to OHKO any SP Lv X card that's weak to :fighting:. Honestly, this is one of the few cases in which the Basic is much more useful than its evolution (Primeape), and being a Basic, can easily be teched into almost any deck as long as you have a way of paying for Extra Punch.

Modified - 7/10 (Basically a suicidal attack since Mankey isn't likely to live beyond getting the 1 KO, but he does do a number on Lv X cards for a very cheap cost)
Limited - 2/10 (Not much use here, as odds are you won't see any Lv Xs being used)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)

This is a game-changer! The Mankey is a heavy hitter against Regigigas, Luxray GL, Porygon Z, Absol G, and Raichu Lv. Xs! Not to mention that the SV Prime Ape's two attacks give you the choice of a Flygon-esk "Top Drop" that not only removes the top card of your opponent's deck ala "Wind Erosion," but can also strike for a wide range of damage determined by your opponent's pokemon. The "Brick Break" attack is a guaranteed 40 damage!

I won't be suprised to see more of these in decks at Citys!

This card is a good option to counter lv.x's simply because a lot of the time, fully powered lx.x's will get a prize card. Simple as that. Most of these prizes are cheaper than this, do less less damage than this, and leaves the next pokemon with a huge load on their hands. Yes this probrably is a free prize card but at least your doing serious damage to lx.x and setting yourself up for 2 prize cards within the next one or two turns, and it pwns luxray which is always a plus,
7/10
