A great pokemon with a potentially powerful, team-based attack and a team-based PokeBody. A resistance to a popular type, a weakness to a type that is somewhat less popular, and a reasonable retreat cost. A good fit in several decks, even if some decks use Dialga G Lvl X.

Only significant down-side to the card is the relatively low hp for a Level X Pokemon.

I'd give it a rating of 8/10.

Fourth!
Played at states with shay sky actually a decent card if you ask me is easy to power up tort X while doing good damage!

8.5/10 just seems to die to fast

well this is good in any deck like torterra where you could need seed flare... and the body is great too when you need extra hp. but this does get walled by dialga g x. that reminds me i need to get one of those...

7.5/10

Everyone seems to scream Dialga G as a reason to bash anything with a Poke-Body. Even in decks running Dialga G, he CAN be taken out, and he will not always be out ALL the time. Though I wouldn't RELY on Poke-Bodies, a good one such as this would be foolish to overlook.

Seed Flare is a REALLY underestimated attack. In addition to that, a resistance to water.

7.5/10 - Good in the right deck, can be game changing; though hard to set up and not consistent enough to get a higher rating from myself. Staple addition to certain decks.

The Poke-body and attack are very good overall. Everyone does make the point that Dialga G is the thing that stops this. (Truly it does). But what other card works? Anyone remember Salamence SF? That hp bonus turns into a burden for them. Heck, you can even play Snowpoint Temple and get the body on Salamence to work. (Granted it is Salamence, so nothing game changing from it)

Overall- 8/10

I do not like Shaymin in decks. A 3 energy attack is bad and you probably wont have anymore in your hand after powering it up. +40 health is nice but depends on a coin flip for level max or being active.

5/10

Today's CotD is Shaymin Lv X (Land) from PT. Now, whenever you hear Shaymin Lv X mentioned, you have 2 choices: this or the Sky form. Odds are, they mean this one.

Stat-wise, Shaymin Lv X is solid, with 100 HP, (could be better, but still a 30 HP improvement), x2 Weakness to :fire: (lol, :fire:), -20 Resistance to :water: (always helpful) and costing a cheap :colorless to Retreat. Thankfulness, of course, is the main reason for even using a Shaymin; giving all your :grass: Pokemon (excluding Shaymin Lv X) an extra 40 HP is a great boon for many :grass: oriented decks. Notably, it turns Torterra into an absolute beast for most opponents to KO. Seed Flare is also a great attack; though it may seem overpriced initially at :grass::colorless:colorless for 40, it lets you attach as many :grass: Energy from you hand as you want to your Pokemon, and increases Seed Flare's damage by 20 for each one, letting you easily power up your Pokemon and meat out big damage.

Modified - 8/10 (Would be better if Dialga G Lv X wasn't around, but he's still a great addition for any :grass: decks)
Limited - 7/10 (If you can get him, his pre-evo, and a bunch of :grass: Pokemon, you're good. Otherwise, stick him in the binder)
Unlimited - 2/10 (Not many :grass: Pokes besides, say, Fossil Muk or Vileplume EX, but they do fine on their own)

The most overhyped card from Platinum outside of Rampardos.

-There aren't any terribly strong grass decks in the meta.
-The only good-mediocre ones don't need/can't fit this.
-Pawn yours off to little kids.

3/10

One of the best Lv X's to be released yet! With this Shaymin Lv X, grass decks would be dominating the format... if it wasn't for Dialga

9/10
It's a shame that the BDIF shuts this Pokemon down.

Waste of space in Grass decks IMO though it is really good depending If you're not up against Dialga G Lv. X. which of course can shutdown Shaymin X (Land Forme)'s Thankfulness with Time Crystal.

With Bronzong SF on your Bench you can use it's Poke-Power Cycler to go through your deck for 2 :grass: energies a turn for Shaymin X's Seed Flare attack potentially dealing 80 damage every turn depending If your deck still has plenty of Grass Energies left.

Personally Bronzong SF is a better tech for Kingdra and Raichu than it is with Shaymin X (Land Forme), and Grass decks can't really afford a random 2-2 Bronzong SF line when the deck already runs Claydol for draw power and maybe an Uxie here or there.

Also Snowpoint Temple works great with Shaymin X (Land Forme) as well however it's not really needed that much considering that most Grass decks don't rely on their Basics for their strategy and heavy-hitting. Grass decks "sorta" have a tech against Dialga G Lv. X... Shuckle anyone?

lol, i would take this card even if it didn't have its body. Attacks like seed flare are what decks are made around. using the Sky form base shaymin and this guy, you get out t2 and wreck some face.

good tech in a grass deck if they aren't running dialga g, and good bait to make them play it.

Modified: 8/10 Good tech in grass decks, awesome attack, but 100 hp, and yes it does get shut off by dialga. however it doesn't necessarily need the body.

Unlimited: 4/10 there are better cards out there. the necessity of 3 energy makes anyone sneaking a super energy removal lol at you.

Limited: 7/10 you have Gs in the set, but crobat too, seed flare drop, Poketurn FTW?

Hard to get out. How many grass decks won States?

My point exactly.

When did a basic form Level X become "hard to get out" given the existence of both Premier Ball and Level Max?

Considering at least one Shaymin acts as an active used for energy acceleration, the idea a Shaymin will either A) never be active or B) be immediately destroyed upon entry into the active position is unlikely.

I like it, i myself use it in scizor cherrim, the +40HP makes scizor that much harder to knock out and gives the cherrims added protection so they can sit on the bench longer, and its really easy to get out there using either level max or just warping it out.

It isn't hard to get out, but in a deck like Torterra it is hard to get this out in addition to 2 Stage 2 Pokemon.
