pretty good card. i just don't really like how you have to hurt one of your own pokemon for the attack. and that you can only use the power when you play it.

Pretty good card, just pass the damage to something you can poketurn or Quagsire GL which is the better option imo, pretty good card.

I've tested this card with proxies and I like it. Luxray GL can be a problem with the Energy discard, and Machamp is always going to be with us, but I think this is a great counter to Palkia, Kingdra, and Floatzel. Comes with a nice Stadium to avert Weakness. As others said, pairs well with Poke-Turn, Quagsire, or Rage.

Anyways, Luxray GL Lv X is a fun new arrival from the soon-to-be-released Rising Rivals set. Statwise, 110 HP is decent for an SP Lv X, x2 Weakness to :fighting: is...bad with Machamp running around, -20 Resistance to :metal: is nice against Dialga G, and no Retreat Cost is always cool. Bright Look is a nice Poke-Power; when you level up your (active) Luxray GL, you get to switch your opponent's defending with one of their benched, which sets you up for (hopefully) KOing something. Flash Impact is ok, but also a bit eh; you get to do 60 damage for :lightning:colorless :)lightning with Energy Gain attached), but you also have to deal 30 damage to one of your own benched Pokemon. Granted, this can be combo'ed nicely with Alakazam 4 or if you plan on using Poke Turn your next turn, but still, it opens up a chance for your opponent to snipe and KO. And in any event, you still have Luxray GL's respectable attacks to use also.

Modified - 8/10 (Good solid card from RR)
Limited - 9/10 (If you can use this, you could use Bright Look to set up an easy KO for you. Or, just tuck him away for safe keeping)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Not that good when you have Gust of Wind running about)
 
I like it, but so does Machamp.
I also think the power will be less useful against SPs cuz of Power Spray.
60 for 1 is good, but this is a rush deck in my eyes, not a donk, which is harder because of it being a LVL X

Great Card but this isn't going to be amazing in the next format. Great with Quagsire though. Very hyped card and lets hope the hype is correct for once.
 
Nice card, although the "no Lv.X on 1st turn" rule takes away the donk possibility... Combo it with Quagsire , Manetric or Magikarp w/Unown E.

Remember the Lv.Max, even if't a bad card...

I'd like the card, it has an awesome combo with Quagsire GL and many good Mach-ups...
 
It sounds like a good card especially w/the 2 for 30.
I'd give it a 7.5 for now, but 8 if it sees lots of play testing.
 
Personally I like the card whoppy do I deal 30dmg to my own pokemon its easily avoidable or used to as stated Quasire and Rage, However no it wont deal well with Palkia and Other water decks because he wont deal enough damage most of the time to KO something before he is KOed himself. But he does breathe new life into possibl Amphy and such.

I say 6/10 untill I see him used in a decent deck.
 
Luxray has the ability to OHKO Kingdra, Palkia, and any other water pokemon used in Floatzel variants. If nothing else, this could serve as quite an effective tech card.

...tech against water types. which will probably be near non-existant in DP-RR.

This card is okay at best. The normal Luxray GL is just AWFUL. It has no good attacks, and the Lv X attack is pretty much all it has going for it. Sure, 60 damage is pretty good early game, especially for 1 energy, but late game it is pretty mediocre at best.

5/10.
