1 / 10.

3 for 80 just doesn't cut it on a 100HP beast... AND it only gives you the damage drawback free from being evolved from a magby!

baaaaaaaaaad :(

second post!

So, Magmortar from MT?

Great 100 hp for a Stage 1, bad +30 to :water: weakness, no resistance, terrible retreat of :colorless:colorless:colorless:.

Smoke Bomb is overpriced for :fire:colorless: for 30, and your opponent possible not attacking next turn.

Flame Drum is a little over priced for :fire:fire:colorless: for 80. However, if Magby isn't underneath Magmortar, you also have do discard two cards from your hand.

Modified: 4/10 (Way too slow)
Limited: 2/10
Unlimited: 1/10

Could be good rogue deck combined with Spiritomb... Flame Drum has some potential... Still 3/10

This Magmortar isn't as good as its counterpart from SW. 100 HP is OK for it, but it's really the attacks that I don't like about it. Smoke Bomb is a decent attack, where it can make your opponent unable to use an attack, but really the flip doesn't make this attack reliable. Flame Drum can hit hard, but it forces you to have Magby under it so that you don't need to discard energy cards from your hand, and plus, if you don't have the Magby under it and you don't have 2 energy cards from you hand to discard, the attack does nothing. Seriously? That's a real bad attack.

The weakness is also bad for which Palkia laughs at it. The retreat cost is just plain heavy.

Overall 3/10 in modified

Worst Magmortar in the format. Magmortar SW is so much better than this card, and even Magmortar SV is better than it (thanks to putting two statuses on the defending pokemon. The reason being is they don't require Magby compared to this one.

Weakness is bad, Retreat Cost is awful, attacks are underpowered with an effect for the first that can be prevented with Unown G and a bad effect for the second attack. Having to put Magby under Magmortar doesn't help. 3/10

Such a bad card. 1 for 30 and your opponent has to flip for attack. Luxray owns this card in that way. Luxray is 1 for 30 and your opponent has to flip for attack. Nobody likes using baby Pokemon so the 2nd attack suck too. Discard 2 energies from your hand if you don't have Magby under Magmortar. It's costly enough to have to put on 3 for the 80. And the weakness and retreat cost are horrible. SW Magmortar is the best Magmortar. The built in potion known as Flame Body that allows you to heal Magmortar as you charge it with fire energies and Flame Blast increases in power the more fire energies you put onto it. And then the awesome sniping attack known as Fire Ball Bazooka which does 40 damage to the defending Pokemon and 20 to 2 benched Pokemon

1/10 for the card itself but 10/10 for the artwork.

Geez I must be getting forgetful, playing catchup for 2 days now >.>

Anyways, Magmortar MT...well, no one used it, because Magmortar SW was released next set and completely outclassed it lol. Statwise, 100 HP is nice for a Stage 1, +30 Weakness to :water: is bad, no Resistance is common, and :colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is expensive. Smoke Bomb is a bit pricey at :fire::colorless: for 30, but the 50/50 chance of not receiving damage next turn is nice. Flame Drum is meh; now, 80 for :fire::fire::colorless: normally isn't bad, but the need to have a dumb Magby under Magmortar to avoid discarding 2 Energy from your hand is eww (unless your goal of course is to discard Energy...but it shouldn't be usually).

Modified - 2/10 (Once the SW one came out, I think everyone forgot this thing existed)
Limited - 6/10 (Not too bad in ways...Smoke Bomb can frustrate your opponent, and you should have enough excess Energy cards in hand to use Flame Drum occasionally)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Bad bad bad)
