wow you guys are looking at this card all wrong play him with the jamming ampharos they get no set up no time walk no healing breath no bright look cuz they will all have damage on them when they come into play

I use this card with Tyranitar as a starter.
Starts damaging benched pkmn while the opponet sets up and gets early KO's T2 while I set up TTar.

Has been working great so far.
I agree it can't really be used as a main attacker though. Just a shiny distraction.

With Ampharos Damage Bind... Amazing. Tech in Miasma and Gyarados never gets going!

7.5/10

Situational to the deck and Meta! Fun Prime!

Kingdra Prime and Donphan Prime both have 1 energy 70 with a negative effect, Absol's is a worse negative effect.

Best for its gimmicky performance together with Ampharos PL, since it has the ability to lock down Uxies. Play a Miasma Valley or a Gravitation Metagross and Gyarados completely falls apart.

Seems like a really fun deck, but gimmicky at best.

I'll also note that it has the unique ability of being the best way to get Pokemon in the lost zone for Mew Prime to absue, without wasting your own time and/or giving up cheap prizes. 6/10.

Now this card is at least decent for once.

80 HP is great for a basic. The fighting weakness hurts, the psychic resistance helps, and the retreat cost is average.

Absol's body, Eye of Disaster, lets it place 2 damage counters on any bench Pokemon your opponent plays down, but that can only happen if Absol Prime is your active. Then, the attack , 70 for two, forces you to put a Pokemon from your hand into the Lost Zone. If not, then the attack fails. Well, certainly, Absol looks solid. It has some spreading potential, and it can hit for some nice damage too, although the weakness and HP are problems.

Overall 4/10 in modified, 8/10 in limited, and 2/10 in unlimited

In modified, this card is decent. With the ability to use special darks and Expert Belt, it can be hitting for some very good damage. The body is also quite annoying, especially since it can make certain basics easier to KO. Absol's typing is also a plus, especially against Gengar. Yet, there are issues. Weakness and HP are the primary problems. Donphan and Machamp can easily KO it, while Garchomp C pulls off an easy snipe on this card due to the 80 HP. Vicious Claw's downside also hurts, especially when going against Gengar Prime. Despite this, I can see Absol being a solid choice for modified.

In limited, this card is quite good. Now that there aren't too many threats for this card, Absol can shine really well. Eye of Disaster has the potential to make KOs a lot easier, and the attack can also be good against most Pokemon. Moreover, it is very fast to pull out since it is a basic and it only needs two energies for its attack. Indeed, Absol is a real worthy option for almost any limited deck here.

In unlimited, this card isn't going to go far. HP and weakness are huge problems once again, which prevents this card from being overplayed. Yet, its "saving" factor is that Eye of Disaster could be helpful in some decks when it comes to quick spread on most weaker basics.
