1st!

Ho-oh, just like its brother promo Lugia, is not too good as it seems.

It has 100 HP though, great for a stage 1, but the weakness is bad with Gyarados dominance , the resistance is OK, and the retreat cost is not too good sadly.

For a single energy, it can do 20 damage. This can be quite a nice starting attacking on the starting turn of the game, so it is OK. The second attack though just doesn't seem cool. The fact you need to flip and use lots of energies is not really that good. If you can get heads, you can do 80 to an opponent's Pokemon. Again, the flip ruins this, and Garchomp is really much more preferred here.

Overall 1/10 in modified

Yeah, this card doesn't seems to be that good right now. It takes time to set up, very flippy, bad retreat cost, and it has a bad weakness since Gyarados is popular right now. Therefore, this card doesn't have that much potential now.:nonono:

2nd!

I like basics that hit 20 for 1...its like a double hit or double kick in the games.
Second attack is a pile of dung sprinkled with Ho oh's sacred ashes.

oh yeah...retreat is horrible for a flying pokemon.

3rd!

HP is sweet for a basic, Retreat is overpriced at 3, Resistance is always appreciated, and weakness is what it is.

3/10

The first attack is an Ok 20 for 1 fire. The second attack is overpriced at 2 fire 2 colorless for 80 to whatever you wish. DCE doesn't help it much and the worst part is that it's flippy. Get a tails and the attack is wasted. Nice pic, but overall not very useful or reliable.

4th...... not bold because it's a sad number.......

This is a really interesting card. If it took more than three turns, I might use Sacred Fire. 80 damage to anything on your opponent's field, if you flip heads, which is still a decent chance. Overall, binder fodder because it take too much energy to use it's real attack, which is flippy.

4/10

Almost everything which requires a coinflip to attack is bad. This one is no exception and you are better off with a card that can do 40 damage to any pokémon for two energies because 80 * the probability that you throw heads (0.5) is 40 damage for 4 energies to any pokemon. Garchomp lvx needs only two energies, can retreat after attacking, doesn't need a flip, has a great pokémon power and is much better with the use of DCE. Only drawback is that Garchomp lvx needs to discard two energies but can use DCE and is much better. I'll give this card a 2/10 because you can use even worser cards.

Good artwork, and a 1 energy attack is nice.

100 HP aint too shabby either.

But the attack is overpriced and requires a flip.

The retreat is also horrendous.

bad card 2/10

This is box of failure! I would rather use one of the other hoho's before i used this one. The flip for this card is practically worthless!

-10/10

Both attacks are sub-par. The 80 snipe is cool and all, but when you have at least 2 cards that do 80 snipe for 1 less energy AND one of them's an SP AND they don't flip, this card gets some time inside people's binders. Mine's established quite the habitat actually...

3.5/10

The card is amazing!!!! definitely has the potential to dominate states. 80 snipe without having to discard energys is crazy and it requires 2 colorless so it combos with DCE very nicely!!!! 10/10 for sure I think we will be seeing alot of this card.

Hey what happened to the witty poll choices?

Oh well, Not a very good option. Weakness and energy cost is really what makes this one not so great. 3 turns to charge sacred fire assuming you have a DCE. And even then it's flippy.
1/10

^^^^ Huh?

Anyway, this card is cheesy. It's already pricey to do 80. 3 for 80 because of DCE. And then it's a 50/50 chance cuz they force us to flip a coin. That's so bad. Garchomp C owns this card. 100 HP is not that bad and resistance to fighting is normal for a Flying Type. The retreat is too costly. 3. Too many. And it's obvious that it's weak to water because it's fire type, so you don't want to face Gyrados, Kingdra or Feraligatr with it.

0/10.

I guess you didn't get the joke. I said it was flippy, so i flipped the rating.

*still playing catch up*

After my scathing review of Bill, I'll be a bit nicer to Ho-oh GS and say it's for fun...even though that's a stretch as well. 100 HP is great for a Basic, x2 Weakness to :water: is meh, especially next format, -20 Resistance to :fighting: could be useful, and :colorless::colorless::colorless: to Retreat is pricey. Combustion deals a simple 20 for :fire:, nothing fancy here. Sacred Fire is pricey for :fire::fire::colorless::colorless:, and flippy too, having a 50/50 chance of dealing 80 to one of your opponent's Pokemon, or none at all. At least DCE makes it a bit cheaper to use, and the chance for a huge 80 damage snipe is alluring (bye bye benched Claydol and Uxies)

Modified - 1/10 (Yeah...pretty much league/fun only, and if you're a tad off your rocker at that)
Limited - 7/10 (Solid big Basic that can stall with a cheap attack while building up for the bigger one)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)
