I actually really like it in jumpluff when you run out of communications late game. It's just hard to fit in.
7/10
It's my first time being first for a first.

3rd.

It could end up being pretty good, especially if you have some draw support in hand when you play it, so you can get it immediately.

5/10

The ability to recycle trainers is kinda neat, but it doesn't deliver well enough. 50% chance to put it on top of your deck... hmm...

Today's CotD is Good Rod from UL, sort of an eh card. With a flip of a coin, Heads will let you grab a Pokemon out of your discard and onto the top of your deck, whereas Tails will let you grab a Trainer out of your discard, etc etc. Shame it's flippy, otherwise this would be a pretty nifty effect.

Modified - 5/10 (Not bad, but not consistent enough to warrant competitive use)
Limited - 10/10 (Eh, no reason not to use it, might be marginally useful. Better than an extra Energy in most cases)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here)

More trainer cards from UL as it seems.

Good Rod seems to actually have some nice flip effects for once. You basically flip a coin. If you get heads, you can grab a Pokemon out of the discard and then put it on the top of your deck. If you get tails, you can grab a trainer card from the discard and put it to the top of your deck. Wow, for once, Flippyness actually helps.

Overall 5/10 in modified, 9/10 in limited, and 1/10 in unlimited

In modified, boy oh boy, this card can be good. Nothing can truly recover trainers other than this card. The fact it can also grab Pokemon is another bonus. I imagine that this card could see some good use in an SP deck.

In limited, this card is even better. There are lots of trainers and Pokemon in UL, so Good Rod can really be a great recovery tool in many situations.

In unlimited, there is no use for this card as it seems.

I see this as a possible component of a future engine... (But maybe I'm just crazy!)
In the meantime though, get a Luxury Ball or that other Pokemon you missed the flip for with TSD.

6/10

good rod for card of the day...not bad. it can get a trainer or pokemon which is pretty good. it can mix well with sp decks and it could help with gyrados a bit. if you want a trainer for good rod and you get a pokemon...what are you gonna do?(and vice versa) and, it goes right to the top of your deck so judge and lookers kill it.so on my opinion: 6/10

Luxury Ball recovery! Yay!!! I love this card. I always loved recycle. Not much else really.

Modified 7/10 Like a non-SP aaron's or a better-worse marleys
Limited 8/10 Your gonna want your pokemon back any way you can

An additional Pokéturn/Power Spray sounds nice...
Could also be fun in Gyarados instead of 1 or 2 Rescue. If you NEED a pokemon, you can grab a rescue and felicity for it... More situational but you have the option to grab a pokéturn or something else you might desperatly want...
Card is a bit clunky though, probably not worth the space.

This card is very useful not just to get Pokémon but to get Energy Gain, Vs Seeker, Power Spray, Luxury Ball, Premier Ball, really, this card have a great potential

I think it's actually a really good card, I'm just afraid of flips, which makes it a dead card. Plus, putting something on the top isn't all that great with Judge, Looker's, Wager, etc., etc.
