Playing catchup, yesterday's CotD was Accelgor from NV...well it can be fun in ways, but it doesn't have much of a place in today's environment. Statwise 90 HP is average for a Stage 1, x2 Weakness to :fire: is bleh, no Resistance is common, and no Retreat Cost is great. Acid Spray does an average 20 for :colorless:, with an added 50/50 chance to discard an Energy off the Defending. Slashing Strike is his main selling point though; :grass: for 60 is great, but with the restriction of not being able to use it during your next turn. So in a way, you can play it as a pseudo hit-and-run style, swapping out one Accelgor for another (due to the free Retreat) and still dealing an easy 60. Still, the low HP ultimately limits him, as 90 is too weak to be a main attacker, not to mention the lack of hitting anything notable (as half the :water: out there are weak to :lightning: instead) and the bad Weakness.
Modified - 3/10 (Maybe a fun deck to mess with somewhere, but in competitive play Accelgor is weak)
Limited - 9/10 (Great card, 60 for :grass: is no laughing matter, and the free Retreat helps)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here, easy prize)
