was good in sablelock till people tested it. putting a 1-1 tech or other trainers is better than this 7/10

hes og in dark decks ttar anyone.....

8/10 good for sp decks
good to tech into decks who wanna use that absol in g mode ohkoing gengar techy

The ability to snipe for 40 + 10 from Crobat G makes this useful T1 if you have the energy and Gain. Also somewhat overlooked is the ability to grab stadiums, one of few cards that can do this. Can potentially lead into other combos (MightyTank) but overall not terribly great on its own. Free retreat would help.

8.5/10

One of the better things about this card is that it's a common. If it had free retreat i'm sure it would be a lot rarer. This is by far one of the better sp cards to make a cheap and successful deck out of

Todays COTD is Honchkrow G from the Platinum expansion. It's a :dark: Type, nice to have at the moment with VileGar and LostGar running around like mad. Also good against a Shuppet Donk. It has a terrible :lightning: Weakness, though if Luxray's Belted, it OHKO's it anyway. It has a great :fighting: resistance, but that won't really make a difference anyway. The :colorless: Ret. Cost is payable, though I'd expect this card to have it free. Its first attack, Honcho's Command, works kind of like a Supporter or a Trainer, as it lets you search your deck for up to 2 in any combination of Stadium cards and TGI cards. Very good tech, it lets you set up for no energy. Its second attack, Target Attack, provides decent sniping for :dark::colorless:. It does a bad 20 snipe, but if that Pokemon has any damage counters on it, it changes to a 40 snipe! If you play a Crobat G, you won't even have to attack to get a 40 snipe! Come to think of it, Kingdra (UL) can assist this attack, too. Today's card is pretty good.

Modified: 7/10- Good tech, good sniping.
Limited: 8/10- Almost anything is better in Limited.

Honchkrow G has been a personal favorite of mine simply because of how versatile he is. He's a tech that can be used in a variety of situations and for relatively good costs. For no energy, you can search your deck for 2 of ANY combination of stadium and Team Galactic Invention cards. Thats a pretty amazing set up. For dark energy and a colorless (or a dark energy and an energy gain) you can snipe for 20 damage. If that Pokemon has any damage counters on it, meaning you probably dropped a Crobat G, you can increase that snipe damage 40 + 10 right away.

The electric weakness does hurt it though when you think of all the Luxray running around in our format right now. The fighting weakness kind of makes up for it... but to be honest I don't see it making that much of a difference since Machamp's take out would 1H-KO it anyway.

8/10 in competitive play.
5/10 for collectors being common.

Meh, missed this yesterday somehow...anyway here we have Honchkrow G from PL, a great starter Pokemon for any aspiring SP deck. Statwise 80 HP is great for a Basic, x2 Weakness to :lightning: is horrid, -20 Resistance to :fighting: is good, and :colorless: to Retreat is cheap. Honcho's Command is what makes this Pokemon so powerful; for no Energy at all, you get to grab any 2 Trainers or Stadiums that have Team Galactic's Invention in their name, and of course, what are the core cards for SP decks? Thank you Team Galactic...moving on, Target Attack isn't bad either if you're willing to invest an Energy Gain on Honchkrow G temporarily, :dark::colorless: :)colorless: less with the Energy Gain) for a 20 damage snipe is already good, but it grows into a 40 damage snipe if the targeted Pokemon already has damage counters on it, making it even more useful.

Modified - 8/10 (A solid play for any SP deck, the only trouble you might have is trying to juggle in room for him considering any Pokemon slot is at a premium, as well as bench space)
Limited - 8/10 (Still useful, you might not be using Honcho's Command much, if at all, but Target Attack is still pretty darn good, plus you have the Big Basic ideology going on here)
Unlimited - 1/10 (Who uses SP decks here? Not to mention his gifts aren't as needed given the mass of useful Trainers and such here)
