Today's CotD is Krokorok from BW...funny story, my first shiny I caught in BW was a Krokorok...except its IVs were horrid and it had a +SpA nature :frown:

Anyways statwise 90 HP is average for a Stage 1, x2 Weakness to :water: is meh, -20 Resistance to :lightning: is helpful, and :colorless::colorless: to Retreat is a bit pricey. Torment is simple enough for :colorless: for 10 and being able to lock down one of the Defending Pokemon's attacks; this is actually pretty useful since many strong Pokemon rely on 1 powerful attack, so by taking it out of the equation you can stall to a degree for time. Bite is overpriced at :fighting::colorless::colorless: for 50, but ideally this guy should've evolved by the time you get that many Energy on him.

Modified - 3/10 - Personally I never got why Krookodile was a fad, but as he's not used that much, no reason to use this guy either

Limited - 7.5/10 - Half useful without the Stage 2 actually due to Torment, and his stats are on par with other Stage 1s

Unlimited - 1/10 - Stage 2 isn't used here, so no reason to use this guy either

I don't know anything about the new cards but i'm assuming he has a stronger stage two, otherwise good hp and torment aren't reason enough to use him by himself

6/10

Our COTD. is Krokotroll from BW. 90 HP is decent, :water: weakness is ok, :lightning: resist is great (3 energy Lost Burn KO), and 2 retreat cost is not good. His first attack, Torment, is hilarious, because for 1 energy, you shut down an opponents move, and considering some of the best pokemon only use/have 1 attack (Magnezone,Tornadus,Thundurus), this guy can stall long enough to evolve/attach energy to attack back. To make things even better, Krookodile has the same move, except it does damage. Its second attack, Bite, is an overpriced vanilla 50 damage, but at least its DCE compatible, which works because its evolution's attack is also dce compatible. All in all I love this troll and believe is a very useful stage 1, 5/10.
