Hello everyone!

This is Ty Smith here, last year's Masters TCG Houston Regional Champion. This event is the most well run tournament that I have attended. The Cook's always find a stellar venue to host this in and I assume Mike has "cooked" up an awesome venue again this year! The judging staff the past 2 years has been amazing as well. If you are debating on what Regionals to attend, let me just tell you that you shouldn't even be debating any tournament but this one!

With that, I will also say that I won't be there to defend the title sadly. So, I guess it is time for a new champion to rise :)

Good Luck To All!
Ty Smith

Or for an old champion to three-peat. :)

Hey Mike, will this apply to Houston Regionals as well?

"If there are 227+ players in an age group then there is the 2 day format. Using last years masters number, we would run 9 rounds of Swiss on Saturday. Then either the top 32 or the players with 21 points (whichever is greater) will play Sunday. By points I mean this. Win=3 loss=0 tie=1 point. So everyone with a 9-0-0, 8-1-0, 8-0-1, 7-2-0, 7-1-1, 7-0-2, and 6-0-3 (w-l-t) would go to day 2. Day two everyone that made that day would play 5 rounds of Swiss and then we would break to a top 8."

Taken from the Fort Wayne, IN Regional thread.

Pablo, IF we have 227 or more, there will be more than top 8 players playing on Sunday (but only a top 8 in the playoffs) does that make sense, lol. The document I have from TPCi states not to share with the public so I won't mention what happens. Let me get approval then I'll explain.

Thank you Ty Smith. If you change your mind, you know where we are.

It's too bad I won't be able to attend :-(

I was SO hoping to be able to attend this regionals this year. Maybe next year...

Just tried booking a room Friday-Sunday and apparently there's none left...seriously?

It's still over three weeks out, tell me I'm reading this wrong or something

ATTENTION TO ALL THAT ARE BOOKING A ROOM AT THE HOUSTON HILTON NORTH:

If any of your stay at the hotel includes Sunday night, you will need to book a Studio King ONLY. It also comes with a pull out sofa bed. Again, this is ONLY if you're staying through SUNDAY night. For those of you that have already booked a Sunday night and you have a double (two queen size beds), you are perfectly fine, nothing will be switched.

We have plenty of rooms available, mostly doubles (two queen size beds) for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Any word if double sleeves will be allowed? I heard they weren't last year but weren't they allowed at worlds? Just wondering...going to be a blast!
