3-3 Bomb at DE States

I decided to play the same deck as last week (I have yet to post that report yet) in which I get second. My friend Matt plays the same exactly list except we have two cards that differ from each others list. I won last year and I hope to repeat or atleast continue my streak of T4's in DE but the streak ended at 4 unfortunately.

R1 - ??????? (Torterra)

She never gets setup and I end up benching her.

(1-0)

R2 - Danny B. (Mirror)

I get a much better start and he is not able to keep up with me and I end up taking the game.

(2-0)

R3 - Kyle M. (Dialga)

This is where I royally messed up. I HAD this game early on, but I use Palkia to switch for a Crobat when he has an active Azelf. He locks me up there and I can't draw a Warp or Turn to save my life. If I hadn't switched I would of taken the first 3 prizes and won the game, but instead I lose 2-4 on prizes on time.

(2-1)

R4 - ?????? (Machamp)

I see this and I am like crap, I can't beat it, but I luck out and he doesn't know what he is doing as he is a new player and I end up benching him and winning as he decided to Lv UP his Champ.

(3-1)

R5 - Josh H. (Kingdra)

I see one pokemon and that is it, I get benched on T4.

(3-2)

R6 - Ben S. (Dialga)

We both get an okay start, but I take an early lead. To make a long story short, I could of stalled after I decked myself the minute (by doing legal game actions) but I decide that instead of feeling really bad about myself, I attack when I can't do anything and lose on time by being a good sport with less than 30 seconds left in the round.

(3-3)

I don't do very well, however Matt playing almost the exact same list ends up winning. I get some really bad luck and it really costs me, I am not upset about the choice of deck, just some of my choices in a few of the games, that led me down this road. I am sure that I could of made cut if I had played better, but oh well.

Thanks for reading,

Drew

I love DE States; can't wait for next yr Drew :).

I bet you do, congrats again on the win. :thumb:

Sorry about your bad luck, better luck next time. =)

I hope so, I really hope that I can still recover for Regionals and Nationals. I would like to be able to do well at Regionals so that I don't have to play Nationals to get a Worlds Invite which is all I really care about, and I am pretty sure that when I was at 1841 I was really close to the cutoff as it seems that for each of the two states the "cutoff" rose 25-30 points. I just don't see it being raised by that much for Nationals and Worlds. I expect that each of the events will raise it less and the cutoff is going to be near 1850 just like last year.
