On to the Report!
R1: vs Michael T (LuxChomp)
saaadface i have to play my friend first round, at table 1. we talk, saying that TOM has a sick sense of humor. we both know the matchup pretty well, given that we played 3-4 times before pairings were posted xD He starts with Azelf to my Uxie. i go first. draw...a hoppip. i bench the hoppip and then pass. he draws...and passes. my turn. i end up getting pluff and filling up my bench, warp point uxie out of active slot and donk his azelf. he looks at the next 3 cards of his deck...nothing to help at all.
GG man, sucks we had to play first round.
1-0
lunch i have an unagi bowl from mitsuwa so delicious!
R2: ??? with Sablelock
ok, this game could've been my 3rd round game, i'm not sure, both of those games kinda mixed together as i'm trying to remember them. sorry if i got it wrong.
i go first, starting Crobat g to his crobat g. i go first. i bench hoppip, attach grass, retreat and bounce him. his turn, he gets a honchkrow g e-gain special dark and turns the bat, flashbite kill the hoppip. but before that happens, he wagers me. :O i'm still trying to figure out his deck at this point, but the special dark and the wager makes me think of the fabled sablelock deck. i win the wager, and from there, it kinda goes down hill for him. he tries to buy some time by luring flame my claydol, but i warp out and keep going.
GG
2-0
R3: ??? Jumpluff
Mirror match! however, this game scares me, because i start with the dreaded lone hoppip
luckily, he flips over a lone spiritomb. ??? i'm thinking cursegar at the moment and trying to figure out what i'm suppose to do against it (never playtested before vs it D his turn, he benches a hoppip. now i'm thinking ok, i can handle this. though, that spiritomb plagues me because of my hand of 2 communication, rare candy, and collector and roseannes. i make one misplay later in the game by not bright looking his benched luxray gl, but luckily it doesn't cost me. i end up winning when time is called.
GG
3-0
R4: Giang V. with BlazeRayChompVile
this game was a good one, we traded prizes, i got the early jump with pluff, hten he luring flames my claydol. i'm not worried, as i run 4 warp points in my deck and i have a second claydol on my bench....and i don't draw into them -___- of course, it also doesn't help that my active claydol is a beast and i keep flipping heads on the burn flip. i finally give up on drawing into the warp point, and begin attacking with claydol. by then, it's pretty much over.
GG man
3-1
R5: ??? with CHARIZARD!?!?!? :O
going first sucks. -___- i go first, with probably the best starts i've had all day: crobat g, hoppip, baltoy, bts, roseannes, pokemon communication, bebes. i draw another bts. he flips over his lone basic...CHARMANDER!?!?!? i'm pretty much freaking out because i know once he gets the zard out, i'm pretty much screwed. he collectors then uses call for friends. i get pluff, claydol out, bench luxray, and get the first kill. then, charizard hits the field and i cry. not literally, but on the inside. i still manage to keep the game close, but the x2 weakness and my inability to one shot charizard without his full bench loses me the game. after we talk, and he admits that if it had been any other deck he probably would have lost given my set up.
GG
3-2
R6: ??? with Gyarados
this game is a bit hazy, but i remember getting the early jump on him, then he made a misplay, forgetting about my leaf guard and ebelting his dos to ko my pluff. i end up koing him the next turn, jumping ahead 3 prizes. at that point i use my warps and luxray to get easy kos for the win
GG
R7: ??? LuxChomp?
i go second for the first time in the tournament he opened a lone luxray gl to my 2 hoppips. he draws and passes. i do a bunch of stuff, ebelt and fill bench for the donk. sorry man
GG
5-2
so afterwards, i'm eating my dinner of miso pork bowl, knowing that there is a chance that i will make it in, but not really getting my hopes up. standings come out, and i'm....33rd!!? beaten out by 1.02% in opponent's win percentage. that was kinda depressing. oh well
Props:
my buddy Jason topcutting with AMU
Mitsuwa bentos and rice bowls, save me money
having a winning record and keeping my hair safe from getting bleached blonde

Slops:

jason not making it past t32
me playing mike in the first round
not drawing into one of my 4 warp points against giang
