Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

(5) International Nationals weekend of 18 June

last year they had 40 masters. Attendances are a little down this year but every reason to expect five rounds and top 8

The nat champ is 47 points behind me, maybe if he made tops with a loss or something :( No one over there has any points so he cant exactly gain much, and if Im not mistaken everyone else in t4 had like no points at all

very approximately +10 points for a win and -20 points for a loss. Portugal has T2 invites iirc and a paid trip. He can definitely overtake you by X-0 the tournament but could also win the trip and still be placed lower than 50th in the ratings.

THats what I guessed as well, if he went like 4-1 and then t8 he went 7-1 and thats about 50 points :/
Meh, so close

Goncalo won .... don't know his record yet.

@yoshi: did you play in any of the Spring Battle Roads? there are several missing from the ratings at the moment. Fractions of a point matter so missing battle roads can change the top 50

He's totally right. I lost a fraction of a point (due to what I think Ian has described in other threads) and dropped 2 places because of it. Being realistic I think i've missed on an invite, but hey, what can you do!

Sami

I didnt because I thought I was safe -.-"

You lost points at tournaments that arent reported right now? Cause otherwise I dont see why youd miss the invite *confused*

49 Sami Sekkoum master United Kingdom (Great Britain) 1767.86
50 David Sturm master Germany 1767.54

If David is getting points from those BR(because his opponents get more points) he can pass Sami :p

The cut is extremely high this year.

Points for top 50:

2008 - 1739.11
2009 - 1742.18
2010 - 1754.92
2011 - 1767.54+

Seems like the times for Europe where you don't have problems to get an invite if you're a good and active player are over...

I guess thats true lol. I wish theyd just take people that won an invite for nats out of ranking, getting your place taken by someone who won nats anyway sucks :/

My advice, just find out when the rankings are officially closed. There's nothing anyone can do now, so just check back when its time, and have your fingers crossed.

So annoying that I didnt play against a single VileGar all tournament. I would have loved it. Lost in sudden death against g-dos in T16 :( Would have loved to enter that T4 with all that VileGar.
In sudden death I Uxie for 6, needed to hit a Garchomp C Lv.X and DCE, hits Garchomp but not DCE. Turn over the next card and see DCE. Sad...
Well played everyone. It was a great event!

Btw stop saying that Im Steffen From ARGHH!!!

That's so sick :thumb:

Interesting.

At UK Nats most (successful) Vilegars played Blissey.

Queen is good vs Skuntank, which Magnezone/Regirock plays

Most Magnezone decks and all Steelix decks play Skuntank.

Nidoqueen is the best play in Vilegar. It turns Steelix from autoloss into an almost even matchup, and it's a solid backup hitter.

that suggests a growth in the number of good players in masters and/or an increase in the number of K=32 events. Either could lead to that kind of upward drift. I would not call 1767 extremely high but it is hard to achieve without attending several K=32 events and doing well at them.
