Personally I've never been against Netdeckers. I'd never do it, but it makes metagaming a tournament sooo much easier. I love it.

Post the top decks. If they're any good the lists will get out any way.

I like the idea of posting them only on http://www.go-pokemon.com/, but how long will it take for the list to get copied to here? I'd say on average, 15 minutes, but I guess people will still want to double check to see if it's the list.

Yea thats why I think you wont see alot of Ape or Ambush for worlds. You gotta be dumb to play the same deck unless its unbeatable. Everyone who is anyone that is playing knows exactly what to do against those decks. But unless you can counter a counter your better off not choosing a deck everyone expects because your only gonna get teched against and lose.

please explain to me what you are saying here ?

If somebody uses a deck, it should be their choice, and the choice of the person the player battled, whether to say what is in it or not.

I disagree with the whole post decklists whether or not the person wants it posted or not. I am sure that next year, if I win cities again, I will not want my list posted, the only 'reference' I would like towards the deck would be the name. But I cannot, and YOU cannot force people to not post it/say what is in it. As much as I would love decks of mine, and I am sure that other's would like THEIR decks kept SECRET. So it is not up to POP to spend their time posting lists on their website (when they could be spending their time organizing events, fixing the bugs in OP, making it better for everybody), it is up to the people that have SEEN the deck in action, and the people that BATTLED against the deck, and more importantly of all - the decks CREATOR to spill the beans on the list and the contents of the deck. If somebody asked me not to tell anyone their decks, I would do it. That is called "Respecting somebody's wishes". And it is something that comes into play in this whole matter.

I forgot to add the main reason I like the idea of posting winning decks is that it'll help people learn how to build a proper engine. That is something that articles here don't do as well, because you usually leave a few important things out because you don't want to give everything away. That's understandable, but posting winning decks will help players willing to take the time to do the research. Don't post the strategies.

That is what the World Championship Decks are for. Last time I checked they came with "everything you need to learn how to play Pokemon like a Pro."

Personally, I would much rather see people learning off of decks that are well proven than decks that got lucky at a city/state championship.

best thing ive heard ever.

I dont mind lists bieng published. I couldnt give 2 hoots because I rarely look up decks. SD's are great... for one tournament, then after that some ppl get jealous and are all like "ZOMG GIVE ME DECKLISTZZ!!!!111!!!!" because the deck did extremely well- after an SD wins a tournament the idea of posting it actually appeals to me.

That event never should have existed. It's a real shame some people can't keep their mouths shut.

Leaks happen.

The event I relayed to you was actually the third time that I had heard of Empoleon/Marowak being a viable deck prior to the start of Nationals.

Next time, be more careful of who you tell what.

Yeah, no kidding. It began leaking about 3 weeks prior to nationals. Such a shame, too.

This year should be a lot tighter and have less leaks.

Bravo Jimmy!

The great singer that writes all of his own songs!:lol:

What does it matter if some "noob" has your deck list? They aren't going to play it as well as you are they?

And what does it matter if you post your winning list? You've already won with it! You succeeded in your task!

I personally enjoy trying out the "big" decks- not necessarily to win, sometimes just to enjoy playing it. Rock lock for example was a deck that I didn't know how to play very well, but i netted it, played it a few times and had loads of fun with it!

But I forgot- this game isn't about fun, its about SD's and rankings! Silly me....

I personally think they wont win. Everyone knows about them. Everyone is teching. So if you play em expect to be teched. Thats usually a way someone loses is being teched against. There great decks dont get me wrong but I say they aren't in the position to get a worlds win. Maybe something else. I bet you too watch JPN play something with crystal beach.

But didnt everybody know about destiny at regionals and it had a nasty appearence there also:wink: .....jus because you tech for a deck dont mean you will always be able to get that tech out at the right time......:thumb:

Well if you got the right draw and setup it should go smoothly. Im jus sayin. If your feeling ambush or infernape. Your probably gonna get teched against. Uk wat I mean cuz Im jus sayin uk how i think its gonna be. Thats how feel. Im not dissin the decks. There great. I just feel safe goin into a tournament knowin no one is techin me. Not 2 mention those decks got no bad matchups. If I was to say infernape has trouble wit spread,lucario-lutions. Thats about it. Still not a bad matchup though. Ambush is solid against everything. Will jus see wat happens at worlds cuz its gonna be interestin.

Boo hoo, cry about it?

For some reason I doubt half the people posting post page 3 have even read the whole thread lol.

More specific little response -

So it is not up to POP to spend their time posting lists on their website

Sure it is. It'd take them all of like 5 minutes to post a deck list on their site, and the cards were made by them, the tournaments organized by them. They have every right to post the winners' deck lists. You have to submit your list at a tournament anyway.

Or do you think deck registration at regular tournaments should no longer be done either? I mean, damn, nobody should ever see your list! SO SECRET!

I posted Mario for the world to see, but I wasn't the first to post a Mario list.

That said, the popularity of my thread, and the proliferation of Mario at leagues and tournaments, tells me that there is a "market" for good ideas.

That doesn't mean that everyone who "netdecks," even with a full strategy laid out, will be successful with the deck. Different Pokemon for different personalities, and metagames.

The whole "Secret Deck" binge which Pokegym residents are currently abusing is a tired shell, a psych-out and nothing more. Ambush is a decent deck, but it would have been just as successful without the surprise factor.... or would it? If not, then how good is it, REALLY?

On the other hand, Mario, fully exposed, did very well.

I totally understand the I'm-a-secret-agent mentality which goes into SD intrigue, but this baiting, "An Ambush is coming and you're not ready" or "Meltdown- believe the hype", is Don-King-mania. It's very irritating. But that's just my opinion.

It's only irritating if you let it be. IMO it's quite fun to help hype stuff up! I mean you might not even know what it is/it won't be serious, but it's still fun and it brings up the mood imo.

Ambush is good without the surprise factor, but any deck is better with a surprise factor. People could have easily teched with it by putting more stumps/some lightning pokemon or something. It would still make a good showing, but surprise factor is always key in a big tournament.
